Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Since the 6/26/2013 update. iv had no issues at all with this rom... works perfect.. very nice... but would like to have the camera working as for now im back on stock becuase i like to take pics. on the otherhand thanks you to the dev. for putting this together.. would love to see the camera working

Love this Rom, thanks for all your work, only issue I ran into lately is I can't use my "google voice" account, I get an error message that says the framework won't allow it or something or other,...When I flash back to it tonight after school I'll see if I can get a Log!!!
Thanks again for all your hard work & Time!!!

I don't think the magnetic sensor works with this ROM.
Reason I say that is I downloaded a metal detector on Slepnier and it worked fine. When I downloaded it on this ROM it said the sensor was not there or out of order.
Can anyone else confirm?

Working fine for me.

I've seen lots of VM people complain about GV not working on ics because VM doesn't allow redirects...look for a modded apk. I don't think its rom related.

Broke down and flashed this ROM. Ran it about 4 days.

Coming along very nice. Showed some lag occasionally, but I can see this from time to time in all the ROMs I've tried.
Waiting anxiously for the camera as most others.

Here is what I found;
Network connection was slow...(see below)
Had decent battery life without running JuiceDefender.....Noticed that the network was set to CDMA only. When I changed it to CDMA auto PRL had better network rates, but battery would expire before the day was done. Had to add JuiceDefender and then I had great results with battery life. (Have to add JD to any ROM I install.)

I have my contacts in "groups". I use the app Group Ring Tone to assign the ring tone to the groups. It did not assign the ring tones to my contacts as all the GB ROMs do. All the contacts had the settings sound ring tone, even when they where shown changed from the Ring Tone from the app....??

This was the 2 things that stood out for me the few days I tried it out.

I'll be back when the cameras fixed.... and hopefully figure out why the ringtones did not change. Don't want to have to manually change every contact...

I was reading about a few other phones running cm9 that have camera issues. A few of them say that the only way to get the camcorder to work was by using a third party app called Illusion. I looked at the app and they have a camera and camcorder app. I know little to nothing about roms or developing, but just wanted to put it out there for the slim chance it might be helpful. If you have cm9 flashed maybe you could try them out for the heck of it.

I wouldn't think it would work since the camera problems are due to wrong/no libs/files for it. But thanks for the suggestion.

The camera would have to have some hw functionality for any aftermarket app to work. Those other devices have a partially working camera. Good researching though, that's what we need. People looking through other threads and other devices to compare and contrast.

Looks like the series of events was that the media service was trying to load the audio files for the camera sounds (VideoRecord.ogg in this case) and went down. libaudioflinger looks like the prime suspect, might need to tinker with that. Could also be worth trying to, in the mean time, disable all sounds from the camera app.

Can someone please post a link to a install guide, so I dp it right first time please? also I need a custom recovery to flash this and I can't seem to find a link or guide. thx ahrad of time.

Does anyone else have a white gmail problem (similar to the Optimus V CM9 problem.)
