Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Just flashed the update nd I love the increased performance much better than the last update can't wait for the camera!!! :D

In a drugged haze my son lost my hand me down elite. Good luck with cm on this other wise horrible device. Wish I could check out the update and continue testing but I will not buy another one of these.

Is there a new version available over the ota update? It says downloading. . . But I can't tell if it's doing anything. Will it install itself or will it download a zip for flashing? I'm hoping it will fix the dropped 3g that requires a reboot.

To answer my own question : yes, it will download a newer version to your SD card under ota update/downloads. Then it will take you to your recovery where you can wipe caches, install, and install gapps.

I know you've had a bad experience with this device and like myself are a N4 user ...but I found this interesting ...

If the G1 (the first ever android, 528mhz and a 192mb of ram)can boot and run CM10(though quite buggy) with not having had a source release since Eclair, lol... I have no doubt the Elite will have a stable build at some point. :D

So, I'm currently running sleipner, but I was hoping to give this a try.

I've downloaded the Sprint version multiple times, both alpha and beta, checked my md5s, but I keep getting a status 7 abort. Any ideas what causes this?

Status 7 is typically an out of date recovery or your bootloader needs to be updated. What recovery are you using? If you're not on CWM 6.x or TWRP look here and follow the OPs instructions.

My OTA updater doesn't seem to be working. When I load it, it says that there is a new update available. I click download and it says downloading. Then a popup comes up that says "Install ZIP" with the Wipe Cache checked. Then it prompts "Installing the file will reboot into recovery to flash the ZIP file. After installation, the system will automatically reboot." I click 'Install' and it reboots into recovery and runs the updater script and it wipes cache and then reboots. I go to check under 'About Phone' in settings and it still shows that it is running the 6.13 build. I click on OTA updater again and the process begins anew, always with the same results.

Reporting in to say that I managed to get the OTA update downloaded and installed. It appears to be running way more smoothly than any previous builds and I appear to be averaging around 140MB of free RAM. Definitely the best build so far.

Glad to hear that. I manage to have at least 170 tob180mb ram free

Mine's been doing this, too. I tried it a couple of times, then just decided to ignore it for now.

OK, got it to work.
I really shouldn't have flashed back to this the night before I start a new job. Now I'm gonna be up all night playing with my phone ... lol

Yeah I've noted and found through various other site that ics + caches different and more (new html configs in the browser, thumbnails etc) so as with a lot of other things we're discovering these things aren't unique the Elite build. I fired up my DX and put CM9 on it, its similarly speced chip/ram wise and the elite is snappier lol.
