Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Hey guys just wanted say thanks for the download. I've been using CM9 for a few weeks now and everything is running smoothly except for my text tones. Whenever I get a text the phone only vibrates (when I have it on vibrate/sound on or any other sound option). None of the stock or mp3 tones work. Is anyone else having this problem??

-Other than that this rom is amazing :D

I don't know if I'm just missing something, but is there any way you can add a system I/O scheduler changer. I'm trying different apps but they appear to not be working.... And to have an app that includes cpu clocking, seems like that would conflict with the native cpu control. I'm just wanting to change the I/O nothing else.

Data randomly drops, starts roaming, or goes from blue to grey for like a sec then quickly comes back. (Happens to me everyonce in awhile)

I may have fixed these issues but still testing.

When leaving the area of a wifi network, sometimes the device doesn't switch over to 3G automatically. Manually turning wifi off fixes this. Tested with my home and local public library's wifi.

Data loss and roaming
The wifi issue mentioned above and having to resign into networks repeatedly (eg McDonald's, Starbucks etc)

Hey guys, long time lurker :smokingsomb: finally decided to register and post. Love this rom btw and thanks for the work put into it. Just wanted to add my bit about the 3g to 1x. My speeds have always been somewhat shotty with virgin but since switching from slepnir to this 3 builds ago i experience the same as others where i never get 3g anymore i'm always on 1x. on another note my data doesn't connect sometimes when i turn wifi off, i have to engage and disengage airplane mode to get it to connect even to 1x data most of the time.
the later issue did not happen with the last build(but ill take that over all the reboots anyday lol). Just thought i would try and help and thanks for all the hard work you rock!:D

Just encountered a weird issue where my phone completely dropped service and did not receive SMS messages from last night until after I rebooted the phone (which also fixed the service problem).

Do you have any logs? I've never
experienced any service drops.

Same here. Except mine still have yet to come through. Call still works.

Sometimes usually when I'm listing to music the sound skips then completely stops when this happens no sound can be made by the phone (this happened to me while I was writing this) when this happens when I make calls it goes through but I can't hear anything from the other person and they can't hear from me a reboot temporarily fixes this but it is still annoying

Yeah I'm working on it.

Not to be a super complainer but it seems that this nd some of the previous updates have tended to use a lot more ram than I remember..

Try flashing some of the old ROMs and comparing. That way you can be sure (and a good beta tester).

The biggest problem with CM9 for me is that the phone take forever to wake up and answer when someone calls me. The stock phone app takes at least 30 second to open and I usually miss the call. I have missed important job application call because of this problem. I don't think this phone will ever handle ICS in a stable way and I say we start to look back at CM7.

The sluggish wake/phone app problem I have to(I am still on the previous version due to me lacking wifi, and VM crappy speeds so I can't download large files.), but that doesn't mean we give up everything we have accomplished. :)

Not true, there are several 512mb/single core devices running ICS and JB. Theres several single core/512 mb devices released with ics...the phone is more than capable. Look at the free ram allocation and the amount of memory available in the system partition. Its not bad at all. But if youre doing heavy multitasking and have a lot of heavy data/sync apps its going to be be a burden on this or any device in this class. It's only been 10 weeks or so since the first alpha? I think progress is coming along quite well considering we're using GB kernel source as a base. There's G1s with GB lol...

Also again while it'd be cool to have a stable CM7...you wouldn't gain much over a stock deodexed 2.3.7 and a custom kernel, aside from a few UI things, theme engine, built in cpu control and and extended power controls its not that big of a leap. I just don't personally see a need in going backwards when CM9 is down to the camera and bug fixes. Just my 2

If your phone is taking too long to wake up from deep sleep; try increasing the minimum cpu speed, and make sure you're not using a governor that automatically drops the cpu speed to the lowest possible when the phone sleeps.

Also a word to the wise, don't use alpha, demo or beta versions of a rom for your daily driver. Especially if its your primary phone and you depend on it.
