Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Hi. downloaded the newest build and it working great. Only problem is storage. When I go to Apps-On SD card Its showing my actually SD card instead of my Emmc. Is there a way to get it to my emmc as my game apps rely on it.

Pretty cool it does that though. Do you think you could add an option to have it switch between SD card and Emmc phenom?

There is a option to switch. Directions in the op.

battery life is splendid for me. It's been sitting in desk for a few hours and only went down 3%. No juice defender or anything like that, I just have the data and Wi-Fi turned off. And I do have the Gmail app but it doesn't auto sync.

After updating to the 8/23 build my ESPN Fantasy Football app will let me sign in now! Everything is working good. Like another poster said my wifi and signal bars are now white and not blue, but working. White used to mean no connection, but as long as it's working I don't care. Thanks!

Thanks that worked what confused me was the description in each. Without the box checked it says Using SD card for app and media when its really using the emmc:confused: with the box checked it says using expanded internal memory for app and media then it uses emmc thats correct, though.

Hmm wifi lights up blue for me but I was using the 8-21build not the 8-23 build. You might be connecting to a wifi which is unsecrued but you are redirected to a web page in which you must type in the password to use it brower login. Use to have to do that and it would be white gray instead of blue but work just fine

Does your data turn blue?

Gmail 4.+ is known to have a mem leak and other resource issues. I'm thinking the adjusted values in the power_profile.xml will make the difference. These values dictate the power that power the radio, and GPS and therefore any applications calling on theses resources. Rogue apps are and can be an issue but until the source is squared away those findings are skewed as relates to their actual consumption/resource use. I hope that makes sense to you.

My profession is software design and test, so yes, plenty. I also fully agree when it comes to the integrated battery stats that we can't trust them. In this case I'm using an independent app and also separate observation. Ignoring stats, I noticed after installing Gmail that the battery drained quickly, and then drained much slower after its removal and a reboot. Whether that's a problem with the app itself, the rom, or a combination of the two would still need to be proven.

If betterbatterystats can be proven at all, something that may tie in here is that it indicated my GPS was in use even when I had it disabled. So perhaps something is going on where apps are accessing resources that they should not have access to. Of course, it could be the power profile is completely faking it out. Speculation as I'm still learning the Android infrastructure, but perhaps still valuable for discussion.

As for what I'll do next, I'll get my phone back to a state where it's not a power hog and then load the gingerbread gmail apk.

Oh by the way phenom when i download a new build do I have to redownload gapps all the time?

I have observed the same. I commented yesterday(?) that BackSide used to do the same thing. I finally found the post where JerryScript explains the fix. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18270283&postcount=2327 But I don't know PhenomX4's release procedure, so can't say that this is the same cause. Maybe it's that we're getting the OTA package rather than the optimized?

Every update wipes the system partition which is why gapps needs to be reflashed every time.

I have the same problem - white WiFi and Data icons in status bar, although I am connected. Rebooting fixes is but this has happened several times.

Not sure I understand how blue WiFi correlates to syncing with Google servers. Google tracks whether I'm on my own WiFi?

No. It doesn't matter what kind of connection you use it will still turn blue when you are connected to the internet and Google's servers but it's gray when connected to the internet but not to Google's servers. Gray also means no I internet connection but connected to a wifi ap.

Interesting. Did not know that. Is this true with any ROM or just CyanogenMod?

Ok, similar to what I said about fix_permissions missing, it looks like you're missing backuptool, which should be run inside of updater-script to back up and restore the system addons. This would imply that your build process isn't pulling anything from vendor/cm/prebuilt/common/bin

Don't remember this on my old Optimus V or on my OE using Sleipner. Both the data and WiFi have always been 'colorized'. Don't ever remember it being white or gray.

Good to know.

More specifically, any rom with google play installed, the icons turn blue once google play specifically makes a connection. if you clear your google play data, the icon turns gray until you sign in to play again.

Also remember that the colors may have been different depending on your theme. Stock gingerbread would have been gray and green.

Never saw gray on my old Optmus V. Only Green.

Also, never saw any gray on Sleipner - Only Blue.

After updating to 8/23 I could no longer connect to play store. Gas Buddy icon was still there but when I clicked it said app not installed. I tried to reinstall it and it said could not install. I reflashed gapps and it left me reinstall Gas Buddy, Google Play connected and signal turned blue again. Still some wackiness going on, but rom is great.
