Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Has anyone else had issues with the stock camera app taking photos with an incorrect date stamp? Example of a recent one: "2002-12-08 12.00.00-5"

The filename on the phone shows the correct date but when synced to Dropbox it generates a filename based on the photo's EXIF data.

Hadn't even look at that but considering the camera was just listed on the working list I would say there are a few bugs remaning

Is anyone having problems with things being whited out or not completely loading in certain apps? For example gmail emails being whited out so you can not see them. Also, browsers like incognito home page being whited out and unusable. This happens randomly sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. This was the issue I was having with ESPN Fantasy App sign on screen too.

That's a cm9 thing. When that happens to me I just stop the app and reopen it and that seems to fix it. It looks like cm10 doesn't have this problem or at least I didn't encounter it yet.

I am having similar problems. Not necessarily freezes, but the phone becomes extremely sluggish. I've done the same type of troubleshooting, i.e., several different types of CPU settings. I even went through a half dozen different launchers. Still same problem - very sluggish.

------------

Yeah the memory management isn't so good. There is a set of options to limit processes from being open and to actually close a app when you leave it in the development options in setting. Try messing with it and post your results. Still working on the memory. I might need to use some init.d scripts.

That might be a problem with drop box.

Will test the 'Background process limit' and the 'Kill app back button'. I wouldn't recommend anyone enable 'Don't keep activities' as this will kill your launcher and you will be forced to restart every time you run an app or your lock screen kicks in.

Happy to help out testing the memory issues. I've felt that the memory issues have been the most important fix of them all (even though I was happy to see the camera/video problem fixed).

Anyone else have to constantly reflash the rom cuzz for some reason the camera will flat out not work after a day or 2 not that big of a problem but quite annoying

Im on stock but i changed the sdk version from 10 to 11 and changed it back after i played a game and the build prop is back to default but now im having random reboots. Please help

@Phenom
Cell Standby has gone from 35-50% to 15-20% so the adjusted values seem to be making aa difference on that front. Just wanted to congratulate you on your progress so far you've done a lot with very little to work with. There's some higher end devices that never got the camera working or the NFC so good job man. Now if the 1x/3G issue gets resolved it'd be completely ready for prime time. Again excellent job.

I can no longer install any apps, It keeps telling me Im out of space and to free some up. I have 489 free on phone, 26.50gb free on sdcard and 1.89gb free on internal. I have 'use internal storage checked under storage config as well. I have wiped, fixed permissions and rebooted with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

i've been using the rom since saturday and have it set up almost exactly as i did with sleipnir.... same apps same profiles etc.

the rom is stable. no reboots. no crashes. no freezes. i didn't take many pictures but the camera seemed to work fine. i installed "scan" the barcode scanner and used that and didn't have any problems either. didn't really mess around with any video so i can't report on that. i finally figured out how to delete stuff i wasn't using that came stock and so i freed up a lot of space that way.

overall performance is good and seems a bit quicker than sleipnir executing processes.

i had a lot of problems with "everday" apps that for the most part ran sluggish or like has been reported... just gave me a white screen instead of the gui for the app. it doesn't seem to like my browsers (stock and opera) and the stock browser had a lot of trouble doing much of anything.

not sure what's up with the radio... if it's the 1G/3G thing but my connection is consistently 1-2 bars down from where it is stock and using sleipnir. and seems to be in and out a lot. as if it were constantly searching for the signal. same with my wi-signal. it was only full bars when i was near the router. we have routers every few hundred feet at work and as i walked around the campus it seemed to be jumping from router to router more than i am used to seeing.

battery. i didn't experience the same battery issues with the 8/23 build that i did with the 8/21 build however overall battery consumption is about 20% faster overall than stock and/or sleipnir. i realize of course this may be inherent in 4.0.

for some reason it's not reporting the size of the external drives properly. also there is no consistency between programs... what the phone says and what the apps say the sizes are are all diffrent. for example it's telling the size of one of my sd cards is 500MB when it's actually 2GB. also. the only program that seems to actually show my external sd card is total commander (and i can see it via usb). otherwise other programs don't seem to recognize the external drive.

overall it's awesome and i think it's a great rom but for now i'm going to to back it up so i can save my data... switch back to sleipnir for daily use and then try out the new builds of cm9 as they become available. i think it's awesome to be able to do that b.t.w. both are light years ahead of stock so really it's all gravy. we're probably spoiled even.

thanks again for all your work. especially over the last few days.

As recommended, been playing around with the Developer Options --> Background process limit. Set it to 'at most three processes' and although the ROM isn't quite so sluggish, it still will bog down on the simplest of things, i.e., opening GMail, file manager or unlocking screen. Even had a phone call wack out on me while I was checking email. It didn't freeze the phone up but it did take quite some time (10 minutes) for it to 'settle' down before I could use it again.

Will continue testing . . . .

Installed on my wife's phone last night. She's been using Sleipnir for a while, and had a lot of trouble with reboots and freeze-ups and such, I had to turn the overclock way down to get it kind of stable.

So she's been reinstalling apps and adjusting settings all day, and says it's running just fine so far, with only two problems she's found.

1. When she tries to change the settings on a profile, she gets, "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped working" with an "ok" button.

2. She has installed the Swagbucks search widget, but when she tries to put the widget on a page, she gets an error that says there isn't enough room on the home page - even if it's totally empty.

I'll try to get logs of the errors, as soon as I figure out how to do that, and i get the phone back from her.

Thanks for all the hard work, so far this is a huge success!

saw this every time i moved a new app to my desktop. ignored it.

Sadly, it's not letting the widget onto the home page, which sort of defeats the purpose.

Also, she just asked me to ask if anyone knows where in the settings menus she can turn off the haptic feedback? Sorry to run a general usage question up a development thread but, well... okay, I'm not that sorry. ;-)

Sounds like it's too big to fit? and to turn off haptic feedback go to Settings>Sounds>Vibrate on touch <- Uncheck

Yeup Swagbucks is to big to fit on the screen it is 5x# while the largest is 4x# by default change the grid size under Settings--> Launcher--> Homescreen --> Grid size and set colums to 5 or more

Has anyone tried using Xbox Smartglass with this ROM? Kind of an odd question, but I'm curious to see if it's compatible. Came back to this thread at the end of summer with low hopes of the camera being fixed, and was very surprised to see this. Excellent work. I guess miracles do happen! Its been a while since I used the ROM, due to it not having a working camera. Very excited, and cant wait to flash. Because its been a while since I last flashed, could someone post a simple guide, (i.e. what to wipe, I've forgotten the steps, and don't want to brick my device before i get to the awesome that can be added.) Thanks in advance! Also, I heard Phenomx4 was working on a CM10 for the Elite. Any word on that?
