Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

Has anyone tried using Xbox Smartglass with this ROM? Kind of an odd question, but I'm curious to see if it's compatible. Came back to this thread at the end of summer with low hopes of the camera being fixed, and was very surprised to see this. Excellent work. I guess miracles do happen! Its been a while since I used the ROM, due to it not having a working camera. Very excited, and cant wait to flash. Because its been a while since I last flashed, could someone post a simple guide, (i.e. what to wipe, I've forgotten the steps, and don't want to brick my device before i get to the awesome that can be added.) Thanks in advance! Also, I heard Phenomx4 was working on a CM10 for the Elite. Any word on that?

IRC, smartglass was for devices with WVGA (800x480) resolution. The elite has a HVGA resolution (320x480) but maybe someone made a patch apk for it since then and yes I'm working on CM10.

My process...
Wipe data/cache
Wipe dalvik
Format System
Format Data
Mount system
Flash rom
Flash Gapps
Fix permissions
Reboot and profit...

I know there's a couple extra steps that aren't likely necessary but I like a realllly clean Install.

Sounds like it's too big to fit? and to turn off haptic feedback go to Settings>Sounds>Vibrate on touch <- Uncheck

Okay, have phone in hand now. The widget menu is saying the widget is 5x2; it's been a 4x1 widget on every other rom... i'll try uninstall/reinstall the app and see if that helps.

Vibrate on Touch is unchecked, but I'm still getting haptic on the keyboard in every app. Is there a menu for keyboard-specific settings I'm missing?

Keyboard settings /uncheck the vibrate on touch option. As for the app/widget maybe the dev isn't supporting mdpi any longer? I'll decompile it and have a look.

Oh for the keyboard. Go to Settings->Input->Android Keyboard->tap on the settings icon thingy-> uncheck vibrate on keypress

So, if I understand the use of getlogs, right after the error occurrs, I run getlogs and it should upload the info to the pastebin url it gives me. Does that sound right? If so, here it is, on the Profiles Settings issue:

Swagbucks widget works on gb ... if you're on CM9 and are using Apex or Nova and trying to add from the widget tab in your launcher make sure root helper is enabled and you've granted su privileges.

Yeup Swagbucks is to big to fit on the screen it is 5x# while the largest is 4x# by default change the grid size under Settings--> Launcher--> Homescreen --> Grid size and set colums to 5 or more
and if you turn on resize any widgit and shrink it down a little the you can go back to 4x4 grid size

Hmm. I'm told this is cm9, but I think its using Trebuchet. I did find a setting to allow resizing of widgets, so I'm trying that. Also, please excuse my noob, but where is this root helper of which you speak?

The data speeds seem faster on this Rom than on stock roms. At least I have have less buffering when streaming music.

Google keyboard. It's free. Plus it's the exact keyboard from the newest jellybean. And they added swype to it.

This keyboard works great. Ram usage was only 7 mb compared to 29 with Swype. Thanks!

I had to put the Cache Cleaner and Minutes Checker on an empty screen and resize. I had to play around pushing on it a little until some arrows came up around the widget that left me pinch it down to 1x1 size. I think I did go into the settings first and did something there beforehand. These apps were smaller on gb and I was shocked when I saw how big they were on cm9.

I had the same problem with GMail. Rebooted into Recovery and did a 'Fix Permissions'. I know this was the fix because I rebooted the phone first to eliminate the reboot fixing the problem.

I spoke to soon the first time. This was just a temporary fix and the issues returned again. I found a Fix Permissions app on Google Play that allows you to fix permissions for a single app without booting into recovery. I now use this as a quicker temp fix until someone hopefully figures out another way.

I'm having a problem that I haven't seen posted here yet. Since updating to the 8/23 build I consistently get an error when trying to install something new. It says 'Out of space' "blah blah blah could not be installed. Free up some space and try again." The thing is, I have plenty of space both internally and on external. On internal I have 307mb used and 583mb free, on SD card I have 683mb used and 1.3gb free. Any ideas?

EDIT: It only happens when trying to install an app from my sdcard. Google play apps install just fine with no Out of Space warnings.

has anyone experienced downloading problems lately?
I tried to download a file over the internet both on data connection and wifi
but it kept resuming then failing doing the process constantly
just wondering thats all ^^;

Well, due to an accident where I damaged my f3 (Which I sent in for repairs to LG), I'm back to using the elite lol. Love the progress you're making with the rom Phenom, it's pretty awesome

I have read on other cm9 builds about Hardware Acceleration either an app or build in. Supposedly this is a fix for the white screen issue with gmail and other apps. Apparently you can turn off hardware acceleration for individual apps and you do not get the white screen. Does anyone know if this is available for our Elite or if there is an apk we can download?
