Root [ROM][4.0.4][BETA] CM9 for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 10/3/2013

And any thing added or removed from the /system parton (flash any tweaks or removed system apps etc) would have to be done again.
(unless you don't want them anymore)

Unfortunately, neither factory-resetting the phone nor applying the patch worked. The first call after reboot is still silent, as are random calls during the day.

I only re-installed apps I can not function without, so I guess my next step is to eliminate all apps and see if it fixes the problem. Beyond that, I give up.

Nothing worked to fix the silent ringing problem, so I moved to AOKP. The last version of AOKP had the same problem, but the ringing problem seems to be gone with the 10-3 AOKP update, or at least I haven't been able to reproduce it since upgrading.

EDIT: Nevermind... I had a silent ring yesterday. I give up.
 
I'm sorry if this was mentioned already but I'm getting a ringtone which keeps playing even after I pick up a phone call. The ringtone stops playing when I end the call.
 
Great Job Phenomx. I can finally say I was able to flash this ROM. A new friend of mine had an Elite with Go Launcher and task managers and notification widgets and everything.... The phone lagged like I had never seen before lol. Anyways, installed the 10/3 build, and he loves it very much and wanted me to say thank you for him as his phone is now "Brand New" and has prevented him from upgrading to another phone and losing his Grandfathered plan. :D He got the phone the day it came out and it still works great, surprisingly lol.

The only problem I noticed was a few force closes in using the Strobe in the Torch app.
 
After updating to the 10-3 build, I noticed that I could not connect to the play store, MMS is still broken, and the WiFi indicator was stuck to a white color, although I could connect to all other services that I tried. I was previously using (I think) the 8-23 build. I anxiously await a fix... Has anyone else had these problems? Sorry if there is already a fix for this, I haven't had time to search through. Also, the video camera was fixed for me. Not all bad news!

Reflash gapps. Mms works for me just tested it right now. Are you using sprint?
 
Are you going to fix cm10 it is the best out of the most of the roms.
Im running the cm9 rom and i cant get it ring when i get phone calls it will only vibrate. would like to be able to hear phones when they come in. Please fix. Phone LG Optimus Elite:(

It needs a lot more work than it seems. It'll take more time.

You might want to try the AOKP ROM after thoroughly wiping system, cache, data and dalvik a few times.

Yeah I'm on sprint. anything i should do after i flash Gapps? I'll try it again, though.

*edit* Flashed, fixed wifi indicator and google play store problems, but MMS is still just saying "sending" and fails to download them.

Im looking for the 3.0.62 compatibility he created for the craig CMP741E tablet and all links seem dead.
 
Well I am still on the 9/29 build and for the most part it works good. Nice to have 4.0.4 on my phone. The only main issue is the phone not ringing only vibrating, but I can deal with that. Text and other notifications seem to have sound. The other issue is I am now getting is the non stop ringing. Sounds like an old fashioned phone ring. This only happens to me when my paid Root Call Blocker app blocks a call. Regular calls don't ring just vibrate. Weird huh? I have tried everything to silence the ring and only a reboot will stop it. I just uninstalled Root Call Blocker. Comcast has a promotion running and they have been trying to call me, but I will just have to manually hang up on them. lol

I don't want to run the latest build due to other issues folks have been posting about. Same with AKOP. There does not seem to be much activity on here lately with CM9. If PhenomX could fix the 2 issues I addressed this Rom would be perfect for me. Thanks to him and everyone else for your work and postings.

Have you checked profiles and everything? I've used CM9 on my friends phone and asked him just now about the vibrate thing and he says it works fine on his phone and he has one of the very bad Elite's.
 
I have never messed with profiles. I just checked and it is set to "Default" with nothing checked to disable anything. It is not set to just vibrate or anything if that is what you mean.
 
I posted awhile ago about high battery use especially on 3G. It seems its related to Google Now. Has anyone gotten Google Now working without high battery use?
 
The latest version released 10-3 does seem to use a lot of battery . The previous version released on 9-28 gives me almost twice the battery life . Something's going on here . 10-3 version also reboots the phone when i run Antutu even at stock speed . I really don't care if I can't run Antutu but it only means not all is well plus battery life was way better before so why go backwards ? I'm sticking with 9-28 version for now . Works great for me .

Great work! So far the only issue I've seen is still related to MMS, I've had no issues sending mms messages now only receiving them.

Trying to find the cause of the phone not ringing issue but since it doesn't happen to me it's pretty tough to track down and this is why I need logs when a problem arises because not everyone has the same problem as others.
 
The only time I had an issue with the phone not ringing is when I tried to call it after it had its screen off for a few hours. I called and it never woke up, my call went to voicemail and there was no indication at all that my phone had received a call. I think that was due to lag and it wasn't the latest release either.

How would I go about getting a log of that though if I have to wake my phone up to turn on the logger, but the issue doesn't happen unless my phone stays asleep?

Also, if I try getting a log of that I'll be sure to update to the latest version first.
 
I reset my ringtone and the phone rang the next time I got a call. This is the only call I have got since doing that. My notification did not sound the first time after, but has every time since. I think this is randomly occurring like the white screen issue I used to get randomly. I must say that I have not got the white screen issue for several weeks now. I will have to look into how to get a log. I am happy with the ROM though and I can deal with it as I usually don't miss any calls as it always vibrates. I also think not receiving mms is random too. Someone was sending pictures from a trip to Florida from an iphone and they were coming through right away. Then when they got back they sent me one from the same town I am in and I did not get until a couple days later. Still not to big a deal as it is nice to be on 4.0.4 with this old elite.
