Root [Rom][5-26-12]Broken Out Spectrum 3.0 w/ Blitzkrieg Kernel

So even if we are on the stock rom with CWM the update is going to fail?
Can we use the all in one deal and unroot and stock recovery to take the update?

Yes you will need stock recovery to actually apply the update. I think someone in the other thread said the all in one workwd still to root after the update

Okay because mine phone failed the update guess thats why.
My wife's phone is downloading the update now if it fails she will probably kill me lol.
I unrooted hers and put stock recovery back on but wasn't sure if i should try the update.
Thanks

Okay well my wifes phone on stock rom stock recovery and unrooted failed the OTA update as well at least hers booted back up though. Any ideas why is might have failed?

Just figured I would let you know the ZV6 update won't be massively pushed out until the 18th. Right now they are doing a staggered push. Also fantastic rom it hasn't missed a beat yet. One thing I noticed is that when I place it in my car dock it loops the boot animation however I'm about to try and install the carhome.apk so ill let you know how that goes. Thanks for the great rom.
Also there is a guy that is modding your rom and has a list of some of the stock .apk's that might be useful for some here is the link.

I don't want to sound like a whiny bee-otch, but will 2.1 be coming out with 2.3.6? I had to wipe my phone clean to apply the v6 update and now's a great time for me re-root and go with Broken Out, only I'd like to have 2.3.6...

Thanks

2.0 is actually based off 2.3.6 but the v5 version and not the official v6 release. but I'm sure mt is making the newest broken out with the v6 version.

I LOVE Break Out. My only issue is that since installing it my Bluetooth no longer works. By law here I have to use handsfree while driving and now it's not possible.

Is this something that will be addressed in 2.1?

Thanks!!

Me too...love the ROM.
This is only a guess, but could the aggressive under volting in Break Out 2.0 have under powered the bluetooth radio?

The 2.0 bluetooth noise I get on all my bluetooth devices (all kinds: old, new and in the middle) - is eerily similar to the noise you get when you turn off a CB radio while the mic is open and you are transmitting as the amplifier goes from full voltage... to under voltage - to off.

Just thinking out loud - please don't flame me.

I believe the Bluetooth issue is from v5 and more than likely why it was pulled as it is in everything using v5.

So do I need to unroot my phone before I install V6?

as long as you are still on stock and haven't uninstalled a bunch of the stock apps the root will not mess with the update. But if you are on broken out or have uninstalled a bunch of the stock apps you will need to go back to v4.

The stock app thing may not mess you up but it could make the update fail so just to be sure I would flash back to v4.
