Root [ROM]A Froyo Rom 2.2.1

so how does this compare to byron? and also is there any news on an oc kernal that will work with this? great job btw the only thing i want to do is change the 3g icon on the jamt theme but im scared to use metamorph lol

The OC kernel that has been developed is specific to velocity. I am not sure if Drellisdee will be making another. If I ever get a couple of days I plan on cooking one up myself, but dont hold your breath.

I haven't flashed byron, although since I only made one easy performance tweak (the dalvik heapsize) I would doubt they are very different in speed. I made this rom for themes, it may morph into more later, its hard to say right now.

Great ROM and excellent work, love the gingerbread theme! I noticed something and was just curious if anyone else has encountered the same issue...I plugged my phone into my car charger and checked the battery status and it said "Unknown". It very well could be the charger but I have never seen this, any suggestions would be appreciated!

Elegant Steel!! YES! Thanks GRZLA for porting it over to Froyo!

For a while there, I was checking the old thread for 2.1 nonstop..just flashed it, and LOVING it!

BTW, this ROM is running great. Thanks again, Savoxis! Loving rooted Froyo.

I'm wondering if you can make the notification bar on the themes transparent at all?
JAMT would look nice with it.

Take a look at the themes post, it has been edited:

01/30/11 JAMT:
Originally made by Classical Gas for Oxygen. Resupplied to us by GRZLA, flash in recovery dont wipe anything the font is included.
Updated: Death2All110 edited the background of the notification pull down to be semi-transparent.

I noticed on the screen shot for JAMT there is what appears to be a google chrome icon in the lower right corner. What application is that for? Is there a chrome mini browser for android?

Okay, so i'm pretty nub to forums...and smart phones all together. :)

Ive had a vibrant for about a month upgraded to 2.2 via kies...then rooted it, flashed it with the bionix V5 ROM for 2.2 and was wondering if i could flash the stock theme or any other theme on top of it? i think it should be okay since it's 2.2 firmware...but i want to just check myself before i wreck myself.

No. This is for the LG Ally, not the Vibrant.

Also:
To anyone.
I flashed the Gingerbread theme, looks great. Wasn't a fan of the font, so I flashed the Mentone font. Looks great together.
Can someone please edit the menu of the Gingerbread theme? The black on black is the only think I see wrong with it. If I knew how to do it, I would, but I have no idea.

am i the only one with the landscape lock screen is all screwy? i thought it was my last theme so i flashed jamt and it is still messed up. any ideas?

It cut the top of the cock off on mine. That was with stock theme and Luna theme.

Did not bother me though, and only went into landscape with the lock screen if the keyboard was already open when it locked.

Mine would unlock if I slid my keyboard open.
I don't have a problem with it, because I set a pin password, which stopped it from unlocking itself, but it's still something someone needs to look into

Ohh right, the lock is also weird on mine, I forgot about that.
But setting a password like I did also resized the clock, so it looks normal to me know. I would just doing that anyway, for a little security(;

When flashing a theme, should the wallpaper on the home screen change to the theme wallpaper? Before flashing Luna I had chosen a wallpaper from the "wallpaper" (not gallery or "Live Wallpapers"), but after I flashed Luna the same wallpaper I had chosen was up. I thought that the theme would replace the wallpaper?

I did the SuperOneClick method that was posted, downloaded ROM manager, and installed this ROM. Now whenever I try to boot in to recovery it's stuck at the LG logo. Anything I can do? I'd love to use a font I have and the Gingerbread theme.

I cannot support coming from anything other than the downgrade/OTA method. Nor do I condone the use of ROM Manager.

Just wanted to share my appreciation for everyone here and especially for the 2.2.1 rom. I am good with hardware and poor with software so I wanted to say thanks to everyone for doing what they do. I updated w/o thinking and thought I was bricked when I tried to install velocity v0.4 then v0.3 when low and behold I find this post. So thanks :D

If there is anyone who could support me I'd greatly appreciate it. I do like the ROM, but I'd love it if I could customize it.

The only thing that I will suggest to you is to use the guide developed by Trident, Death2ALL, GetItNowMarketing and anyone else I am forgetting. You do not have fastboot (bootloader) and if anything corrupts your device you'll have to use this guide just to restore your device. Yes it will take you some time, but your device will be at less risk for failure and you most likely will not run into recovery issues.

Savoxis, I totally respect your post regarding the quoted post. I only responded to this post because I feel that the one click method is improperly leading our community into a false sense of security in regard to the development world of android. Feel free to report my post if you feel I have stepped on your toes. I appreciate your work and use your ROM secondarily. I have also found your website to be useful and thoroughly informative.

Thank you to all our ALLY DEVS. PLEASE DONATE IF YOU CAN.

EDIT: Donated! Sorry it isn't more...in between paychecks and father of a newborn. Thanks for everything.
