Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Anyone else having wallpaper scrolling issues with Trebuchet? I don't want to go through the effort of using another launcher when Trebuchet is fine. I'd like my wallpaper to scroll, but it won't for whatever reason.

Mantera, are there any other requirements for changing the kernel's VMSPLIT from 2g/2g to 3g/1g else besides having to change VMSPLIT in config?

This is a bug with ICS keyboard source, I noticed it when the first batch of ICS keyboards were ported to older android versions and people had to fix them manually. I'm guessing Google hasn't fixed it or CM9 hasn't updated from Google's source.

Yeah, CM9 in itself is still a work in progress. Which is pretty obvious when you go settings and see all the place holders. One thing that bugs me is the percentage battery indicator is not enabled yet, I guess we'll just have to wait.

One thing I learned today, was that MMS only works while 3G is enabled. I wish there were some warning to tell you to enable 3G when you attach an image or something or when you're trying to download an image or something, kinda like maps telling you to enable GPS.

Same thing with the battery usage monitor, unfortunately. The app by app usage data, I mean. The line graph works, though :)

Hey mantera the user notification icons are still mdpi, any reason why in particular? My custom made seepu icon looks overly dark and small

The line graph works, which is amazing but I can't seem to set a limit for the data. As you probably know VM will soon be enabling a data cap of 2.5GB, I'd just like to see visually how close I am to meeting that point. Most of us here on the forums are probably pretty heavy internet users, and as soon wi-fi hotspot comes back there is greater possibility of getting throttled. I tried to use this guide: Tips and tricks for your new Galaxy Nexus | ExtremeTech, but that's probably just another thing that CM9 needs to be updated from the google source.

Anyone tried the Google Chrome for Android yet? I downloaded it but it keeps freezing up on me. Can't move through tabs or search.

From what I have read, it runs using opengl which is probably why it isn't working. I don't think opengl is running very well. You can tell when running quadrant and getting low FPS on the opengl tests...

Trebuchet just doesn't work right. its slow and it crashes. use apex or nova, you won't be sorry.

Edit: As a matter of fact the devs should just include one or both in the rom. It would make the initial user experience so much better.

First time flashing this rom today (latest 0.6.3) and I have to say that I love this rom! Don't know if its been mentioned yet but video playback (I use MX video playback) for a 720p video has the laggy and unsynched audio problem. Loving this rom! Thanks peeps! Keep up the good work. I'm proud of you guys :-) you make this phone worthwhile!

I'm talking about the battery usage monitor, which gives you a line graph but no info on which apps are using what yet.

As for the data limits, oh good it's not just me :) lol. I thought I just wasn't doing it right. Or maybe it has to go for a few days first or something?

Also, I found a neat little trick for the browser - Go into settings - Labs and enable quick controls. Then when you touch the sides of the screen it brings up this really nifty radial menu :) Just thought I'd share, for those that weren't aware.

Whyzor: I know you've recently done a lot of work on kernel wakelocks in CM7. Are the wakelock fixes you made included/needed in the ICS kernel?

Yep, no need to wipe all data. Also make sure you flash gapps after flashing the update each time.

No need to flash gapps again if you are installing another version of CM9 as long as you are coming from CM9. I must have installed several CM9 versions in the past few days with no issues whatsoever. In an unrelated note, on HP TouchPad, I don't have to flash gapps after every CM9 related install.

Btw, I think there is lot of confusion on what or when to do these wipes. Let me clarify:

1. If you are coming from the same CM base (CM9, in this case), then all you have to do is Wipe Cache Partition and Wipe Dalvik Cache and install the ROM.

2. If you are moving from CM7 to CM9, then do a Factory/Data Reset and format /system partition to have a clean install. Factory/Data Reset wipes /data and /cache partitions and clears Dalvik Cache too. So, no need to do Factory/Data Reset AND Wipe Cache AND Wipe Dalvik Cache.

Question, what is the possibility of you ever making a dual boot rom between Froyo and this? Or how would I get dual boot setup?

We've documented issues with gapps after flashing a CM9 update. Flashing gapps each time prevents these issues.

I flashed from 0.6.0 to 0.6.3 without flashing Gapps and did not have issues. That being said, I would say to flash Gapps every time to be safe for now.

Hint for you all. If you flash the ROM, but don't want to loose Gapps data, flash Gapps right after you flash the ROM. This way, it should retain all pertinent information. It's been that way for me since the .5.2 build.

This should be added to the "not working list", but cameras don't work. Kinda something you want to have listed..

Goddang! Now I have to reinstall CM7 and all my apps. I had it backed up but it corrupted for some reason. FML
