Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

I know that NateMckn's rom is mantera's build with some "extra's" added, "sometimes" things happen, with 3 posts in a row with rebooting, their "might" be a connection.

But first, I would recommend step 3 from the 1st page of this thread and see if you still have a rebooting problem.

If still a problem, I would try a "clean" install

1.format/system
2. Wipe data factory reset.
3. Wipe Cache.
4. Wipe Dalvik.

flash the ROM then Gaps don't reboot yet try repeating steps 3 - 4 then reboot

If still a problem or others are having the same problem with this build perhaps NateMckn can chime in, I have not used (tested) this rom as of yet, I just built Triumph-Alpha-0.6.2 and will install after I get home from work.

I planned on doing that but I'm at work right now. When I get home in the morning I'll wipe everything and try a fresh install to see if that fixes it.

Hey Nate your build is still mdpi. The system icons are hdpi however the user icons aren't.

Also after flashing the ROM I used ROM manager to basically auto boot into recovery to flash gapps and upon reboot my phone had a window popup saying Android is upgrading and then it went on to optimize like 81 applications. Does anyone know what exactly this is doing. Or has anyone else even had it happen for that matter?

yeah, it happened to me too, "updating __ of 121"

I started getting that update screen a few builds back when I stopped doing the Factory Data Wipe and started only doing a Cache Partition/Dalvik Cache wipe before flashing. I assumed that this had to do with flashing CM9 on top of an already installed CM9 build instead of a completely clean install.

I just figured it was doing the same thing CM7 does (without any notification) on boot up, when it takes so long after wiping Dalvik... Rebuilding Dalvik?
I guess its better than just looping the boot animation for so long. At least you know it's working and not just failing somehow. :)

Changelog:

Alpha 0.6.3
enabled data usage accounting
removed btwcoexlanc file startup so wifi usage will not cause cpu to run at max
fixed haptic keys
enabled hdpi icons
Added facebook contact support

Don't see it listed here, but the Quick Unlock (not pressing OK on passcode lock) is fixed in this build now too.

and maybe it's just me, but it feels faster than .5 did?

The Quick Unlock was a fix from upstream from CM so I don't usually list those since there's so many of them sometimes... But thanks for noting it for others here.

Data add is working nicely. Mantera, thanks for the hard work!

Thanks!

Hopefully with the data usage accounting enabled now, we'll stop getting those errors about the network stats that seem to be killing the data now and again.

I'll still run the connection checker for the time being, just to be on the safe side. I've been running this build as my daily since .5.1... I really can overlook the little issues we've actually had. At the rate the changes go, I'm supremely impressed with the progress. I'm gonna try to run a build today and see if my wiping the files I had and retrying will make a full build. I had wierd build errors before, but hopefuly I can run a build this time. It may be a moot point, but at least I will find out if my build will run. Thanks so much to Mantera and all the other devs responsible for this. I'm getting rotten teeth and a sore belly from eating so much ice cream!

I never touched the caches just flashed gapps

Mantera, 0.6.3 is an awesome build. It's very smooth and overall seems a lot snappier than earlier builds. The way you are churning builds is just amazing and with you around, I am sure in few weeks, we will have a full-fledged working ICS.

Btw, do you know how to remove the Camera app from the Lock Screen and replace it with a Ringer Mute/Un-Mute? Can this be done by tweaking some configuration files or needs code change?

CyanogenMod is still building in configs for changing the lockscreen, adding themes, etc. I imagine, as time goes on, that we'll see more and more additions/settings. They are still changing CM7. I see little changes all the time from them.

Don't forget to thank all of the devs listed in the credits post #3 of this thread. Without the whole team, we would not be where we are today.

As for your question about the lockscreen, sharpe351 is correct. Those settings are probably still being worked on and may show up at some point from upstream from CM.

I am sorry if this was already asked but any information until the camera starts working? This is one of the only things until I will 100% love this rom. Would we have to wait until Beta or will it be tweaked and fixed anytime soon in alpha. Or is there any quick fix that I can do to fix it? Thanks in Advanced.

Something interesting that happened-
I upgraded to the latest build from Nate's, and upon the first boot a flood of text messages I had apparently missed came in, as well as a voicemail notification. If this hasn't happened to anyone else I guess I'll chalk it up to Virgin Mobile being, well, Virgin Mobile.
Very weird.

This is an unknown. Nobody is quite sure how to fix it but I'm sure someone will eventually figure it out. Once its fixed and confirmed I'm sure they will add it into the next build.

So one bug I noticed that is fairly consistent is when swiping through widgets. About the 5th screen of stock widgets, trebuchet (or however its spelled) crashes. I've found if I want a certain widget, I have to download one that starts with the letter A-F, or I can't swipe deep enough into widgets. My suspicion is that one widget is causing the crash, but not confirmed. This has to do with the launcher, right? Are we tied to this launcher due to CM9?
