Root [ROM][ALPHA] Triumph CM9 v0.6.17.0 [FINAL]

Can I turn the Vibration OFF? i am not a fan either.

In Settings - haptic feedback, also in CM Settings - input, duration for vibrations, needs to be zero in a bunch of fields to make sure some apps that don't obey the global setting also don't vibrate (at least in CM7) It's not as consistently applied as it was designed to be.

Devs -

Whyzor mentioned in a post (that I can't find again) that you're missing a few binary drivers.

Which drivers are you missing/lacking the source code for, exactly?

We have working binaries, but there may be more updated ones for other devices in the family as the MT or more recent shipping phones. Here's a list:

Since Chrome (beta) will inevitably be the default browser for future android devices and we have the luxury of downloading it via the market I thought to ask if anyone is having the following issue(s):

After I download the Chrome.apk and sign in under my name it then gives me the option to request a url, after I request say google.com, it acts as if its loading but to no avail(blank white screen). I understand there are plenty of other issues to adhere to within the alpha stages of this GREAT ROM (amazing job dev's) but any help or suggestions with this browser would be appreciated.

That is more than likely an app issue, not a ROM issue.

Does anybody know if the data usage monitor works or does not work? 3G is terrible where I am so I don't know if I'm even getting enough data to register on it.

No I am nearly sure this is a ROM issue. Some other CM9 alpha stage roms are having the same issue.

I suspect it is related to the fact that flash does not work in the browser and some other apps not working properly. Also like when screen turns off the CRT-style turn off animation which used to be there in Gingerbread is not there right now.
All of these are likely due to missing pieces in the graphics driver and lack of hw acceleration in certain places.

try 3g watchdog (free on market). I use it strictly to monitor data usage-- for morbid curiousity.

It isn't an issue with any other browser (at least not dolphin or the stock browser) and at this point there is enough to fix in the ROM itself before worrying about something in a specific application (that doesn't happen in others which serve the same purpose).

It may be something that gets fixed once the ROM gets working better, or it may be an issue in the app itself. Just because the app has issues on other CM9 ROMs doesn't mean it is the ROMs fault.

Also keep on mind Chrome is still in beta. Use a beta app on an alpha ROM and you're sure to have issues.

I updated to 0.62 but now my wifi tethering wont work. Probably will revert unless someone knows a fix. (wifi wont turn on)

Google Chrome doesn't even support flash and never will so I highly doubt that's the issue.

Wait, what? Are you talking about the desktop version or this new mobile beta?
Also, I was surprised about this, because I thought the Android browser was already based off of Chrome.

The mobile version. The desktop version has flash already built in. And it is kind of surprising, but its because Adobe is stopping development for mobile flash to focus on air, and html5. And the stock browser is based off of chrome so it is kind of surprising.

Okay. I thought you were referring to the desktop version, which I know has flash, so I was like "Uh... that's wrong." lol. Nevermind :)

I hate to ask a really annoying and obvious question, but have you tried rebooting the phone? On both 0.5 and 0.62 I could not activate the wifi radio until the second boot after install.

I got to say im not going back to cm7 anymore this cm9 alpha build is perfect! its sluggish but whatever it can only get better and now that the icons are clear its amazing once the camera gets done this well be much better than cm7! btw anybody wanting to change from cm7 that hasnt to this rom DO IT you wont regret it! Thanks to all the devs for there time and effort!!:)

This is kind of related but should be helpful if it hasn't already been said. I found the Trebuchet launcher a really poor performer so I installed my ADWeX and it performed pretty good so I figured that was as good as it got but it was always missing finger taps that I thought was the OS.

I figured I would try either the Nova launcher or the Apex launcher ( I went with Apex) just for kicks. WOW! I was blown away by the speed and buttery smoothness of it and it doesn't miss a finger tap ever. long story short - get an ics only launcher and enjoy ICS the way it should be.
