Root [ROM] Android 2.2 FroYo - Brought to you by MDW (OC & Flash 10.1!)

Site is loading slow as hell, but my connection is perfectly fine - they must be getting *hammered* right now lol...

Well, I'm late to the party, but better late than never! Benchmarks are sounding good, but what about actually speed? My Droid runs 9.8 MFLOPS consistently at 1.2GHz and for the most part flies. My internet is almost as fast as my pc, and DLs happen w/ the quickness. The only issue is sometimes there's a bit of screen lag, usually after I close out an app. What's the real-time speed looking like?

can you save the apps to the sd card and take the current apps you have on the internal memory and move them to the sd card????

Looks like we have USB tethering, but not the awesome wifi tether the nexus has (from what i can tell).

Also, the chrome to phone application doesn't want to register my device for me...

lol yup I knew this was gonna happen:

This account has been temporarly suspended.
Due to the recent release of Froyo 2.2 for the Droid, we have seen an enormous load on this site, Please check back shortly and things will be back online.

I have the main 2.2 file in my Media Fire account - here is the link for any and all who need it.

P3DF-CW.zip

do you have to use nandroid to do the update or can use you SPRecovery

Either or - the site had links for both, but now they are temporarily down, so I only have the Nandroid file in my Media Fire account. I'll try to find the SPRecovery file(s) and add them to my Media Fire Account also.

lmfao - now it is saying this:

Froyo broke the sever...hahaha.
You know Android Kicks Apples Ass when a little release like this creates so much attention.

Honestly, I can't tell the difference between 600, 800, and 1000MHz running Froyo. All that changes are my benchmark numbers.

What I can tell you is that it hits over 10MFlops at the stock speed. Pretty comparable benchmarks to 2.1 at 1.2GHz.

The call log is sweet.
Multiple calls to the same number result in a drop down arrow for consolidation if they are consecutive.

edit -
Accessibility Settings - during call power button ends call instead of turning off screen option
Voice input output settings - voice recognizer - safesearch and block offensive words toggle (I think these are new, I don't recall)
Search Settings - Searchable items - searchable tweets
Sound settings - screen lock sound
Sound settings - more logical layout with consolidated slider settings (you will see)

I wish there were more call settings, but BT dialing works, so WOOT!
But the accuracy is terrrrrible

OK, so now it says:

Glad they included the links in the 404 page. That was nice of them.

Fab - can you include these direct links in your OP since MDW is currently down? Else gonna have a lot of n00bs comin back here complaining that MDW is down....

thanks for the credit.

MDW has posted the links in their server page now too.
