Root [ROM] Angry Bean / CM 10.1 [build 08.08.13]

The only other suggestion I have is to start from scratch..flash the stock ruu and start fresh. I flashed to this Rom from my stock rooted Rom. I had to do this one time after trying to flash Gangnam style Rom

This is a tutorial found over at XDA here. I will go ahead and post it in this forum for convenience. Plus if the link ever goes down it will always be here :)

Here is a small tutorial on how to check the MD5 sums:

Step 1:
Download MD5 Checker (or download from the attachment)

Step 2:
Unzip md5.zip and launch md5.exe

Step 3:
Look up the MD5 sum of the .zip (for rom, kernel, anything), (example: e8d262b569b912c82b7a43168441831b)

Step 4:
Copy it to clipboard (Ctrl + C).

Step 5:
Press Paste in the md5.exe program.

Step 6:
Press Browse and look up your rom.

Step 7:
Wait for it to complete.

Step 8:
All done!

If the MD5s match, the second box will be green, otherwise it will turn orange to indicate that they do not match.

Actually, now that I look at the OP, I don't see the md5s listed for any of the downloads. Am I missing them somewhere anyone?

If not, would you mind uploading them Chairshot so that Protomize can double check his downloads? :) Thanks in advance!

Checked the md5's, they all were correct. Reflashed the fix everything hboot and OTA firmware to run CM10.1 and I still get bootloops. Anything with ICS works perfectly fine. :(

So I started using Waze as a nice free replacement for Maps/Navigation. It doesn't flicker, but it helped me realize that my GPS (er, location services) has to be turned off & back on before any app can utilize it. Otherwise the GPS tries but can't lock. Maybe that is part of the issue?

I fixed my GPS problem by booting to recovery and running fix permissions!

I'm still experimenting trying to fix my WiMAX (wouldn't ever turn on).

Not sure if this is a problem or if a fix is out for it, but I noticed that when I am on Wifi, I need to disable/enable my 3G for it to start working again. Even though I see the signal strength is okay.

I have this problem of 3g not working, when I go without reception for awhile, then come back into reception. I always swipe down quick notifications and tap the Virgin mobile icon twice with a pause in between.

It doesn't bother me, but still making note.

I have had the same issue of 4G not turning on. I fix this by restarting the phone just as I turn on 4G and it restarts with it on. Can this be fixed please?

Well, after a couple days of using the GPS I can say it sometimes still needs me to turn it off and back on (location services) before Waze can use it.

If we could just fix the GPS, WiMAX & 3G issues with this ROM it would be a perfect ROM in my opinion. I'm going to stick to this ROM a bit longer and see what happens. It's hard though, since I run a mobile business using this thing.

Soo today i enabled the Android device manager https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

it seems to work

Has anybody else been having any issues with the phone randomly powering down? It only seems to happen when I'm streaming music (Google Music, Pandora, and Slacker) but I can't seem to pinpoint what exactly is happening right before it happens as it always seems to happen when the screen is off. I think it's only happened while on WiFi, but I can't be sure as I don't stream music in the car that much (stupidly inconsistent 3g (no WiMax) here).

I've tried wipe of all partitions (except SD card) and reflashing the ROM a couple times then installing apps from Helium and doing the same with downloading the apps fresh from the Play Store and nothing seems to make much of a difference. Sometimes the phone will go hours without powering down, sometimes 20 minutes.

Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks!

I experience Random Restarts but not necessary related to Streaming music. It happens sporadically.
The 7/03/2013 release was stable compared to the latest (7/17/2013).
I've been trying to live with it but now it's starting to become more of an issue.

Sorry guys have still been working the Sense Rom.

https://github.com/HTCStarShip

Also have had my Victory activated the last few. The biggest difference between the last 2 releases of Angry Bean outside of CM changes was we had been using some of the Rider device include files. I removed them in the last build. Will try and put out another build tonight or tomorrow and put them back and see if that helps. Otherwise probably not going to be another update in the near future.

If anything you are working on is for the evo please share because you do fantastic work. I followed that link and didn't really understand what I was looking at lol.

OK since I don't have my EVO with me I have not flashed it yet but basically did a sync with CM, Added back in the some of the device include files we had been using previously and added in a few updates from mrg666's Kernel for the most part improvements on what had already been picked. Thanks again to mrg666. Otherwise will update the thread after the joby job.

Answered my own question after flashing. Looks like it is. This new build is working great so far btw! Just wish cm allowed clock centering.
