Root [ROM] AOSP BURNTH3ORy

Good idea, I have that app and have used it extensively. But here is the catch 22. I can't get the bloody thing up to 100%. It tops out at 89 or 90% no matter how long I charge it for. So now I'm trying to drain the mutha and this rom won't let me. The battery life is so good that I'm only down to 51% and have been streaming video for 3 hours now. I might just put it on 4G and get off the wireless. 4G should do it. :-)

What voltage is it reading when it tops out? Mine reads around 4.220 iirc.

Just turn off everything in the news catagory, and disable PM notifications, you'll still get a gmail when one comes through so its redundant to have it checking for PMs.

It will show up running in the background but doesn't drain any battery. I get about 20hrs avg with it always showing in running tasks. Didn't change anything when I uninstalled it as an experiment.

I looked around the app. What news category? I cannot find anything like that. I did turn off pm.

Edit: nm. Found it. I always just blow through the first screen into the forums. Twitter is a much better news source anyway.

Edit 2: I despise context sensitive settings. Worst idea ever. The app has two pages of preferences, so no need to hide half of them.

Turn on 4G, high brightness, performance for your governer, along with the streaming, I am sure we can figure out a way to kill your battery :D

Wow that did it alright. Plus the phone is hot as a pistol! Down to 19% already getting ready to shut off. Haha love it. HBO Go hammered it.

I doubt your phone can come close to how hot my OG droid used to get. I messed up the auto shutoff thing for when it got too hot and one night on the charge it burnt/melted the cloth it was sitting on. It was OCed like crazy. Glad we got your battery to die!

So what happened? Did it charge to 100%?

Curious what voltage are you showing when its topping out at 90ish%?

Still charging, had to work tonight. Got a brand new battery from VZW warranty replacement. At 86% now, going slow. how do you check voltages?
Got it. 4057 at 86.

Elixir? Android System Info? System Panel? Battery Calibrator?

I'm sure it's somewhere in the 'about phone' menu, but I always just use Elixir to keep an eye on things..

Just checked mine---4204 mV at 93 %. Remember that battery voltage vs. remaining capacity is not linear.

Lol, I can see that. These phones get HOT. The phone finally dropped dead after about 45 min at 2%!

I don't l know what that means, sorry.

Edit: And in the meantime i'm waiting for the burnt update due tonight. I might crash and do it tomorrow. Looks like i'm hung at 86 for now. Know more in the morning. It's really weird though, all of a sudden.

I remember running my phone stock and looking at it having 15% battery left and the phone dying less than a half hour later. I shot the battery on that old phone but had like 12 others to replace it :D

When battery calibrator is done, it will tell you the Mv, right next to the percentage. It should be a little over 4200 at 100%.

If you're at 4200+ at 90% it really may make no difference in the actual battery life..

Success! ! 4102 at full charge. Took about 6 hours but I'm finally loaded for bear. Now what can I flash today?

Looks like the Burn Thread has been deleted and now Shift Theory is the only AOSP ROM?

Yes it does look that way. Burn ignition will make it burn theory so I guess the folks at XDA got to him about having too many roms

New thread started to try to avoid confusion

There was discussion yesterday about mod's were trying to help him "consolidate" all his ROMs because he was taking up too much real estate. Which is true. The entire first page is his ROMs. I wish he would just make a sense based ROM and an AOSP based ROM and just add patches for certain elements. It looks like that's what he's doing for AOSP. I hope sense follows.

Now, my question which I asked in the Shift thread, if you want to update to this newest version coming from Burn, can you just flash over? Or flash over and then flash the Burn ignition?

Burn ignition isn't available yet, I think we will need to flash the mod pack on the new rom. I know there may not be a reason to wipe but I think I will be. Getting ready to flash now

Does anyone use Google Music? For some reason I have it synced to my gmail account, but under account and sync there is no option to sync music. All the new music I've added to the web based GM (Carter IV FTW!) isn't showing up in the app.

I'm thinking it's a ROM issue because I've never had this problem on any other AOSP build. Curious if anyone else running it has noticed this?

Someone on XDA suggested this and I can confirm it's working.

Uninstall GM.
Reboot (I didn't reboot)
Install GM from Market.
Open from market.
Sign in to account.
Open Account & Sync and sync.
