Root [ROM]AOSP ShiftTh3ory

I've tried jdkernel 2.6.35.14, Immoseyon 3.5.8 and slayer cm7 kernel all have given me the same battery drain. I will try the newest immoseyon and see what happens. Anyone else have an kernel's that i should try out that doesn't drain the battery on 3g and 4g?

I can't touch my phone while I am at my desk at work. I hope if it is that important they leave a VM, plus anyone I really would need to talk to have my work #. On my smoke breaks I am out of airplane mode.

I'm on WiFi most of the time these days, but I'll turn it off and see what happens. Does it matter if you are in 3g only mode?

I would think it would. 3G only doesn't use the LTE radio so it is much nicer to the battery
I know. But from the post I can't tell if he's experiencing the same problem regardless of which data mode he is in. Sounds like either is giving him the same problem, but it's unclear.

As I suspected, I suffered no issues by leaving my phone on either 3g only mode or 3g/4g mode. Pretty sure this can't be kernel related. By the way, I'm in a 3g only area.

Odd I'm thinking you must have some app syncing to much or something

Unlike HTC Sense I cannot designate when to sync data on shift theory, its just set to automatic. This troubles me as i cannot find out what is causing this huge battery drain because i tried everything

Imo's 3.5.8 had the best battery life for me, but i hate that it doesn't include the in call audio fix. i am using currently using DroidTh3ory's modded version of 3.5.11 which includes the audio fix but is not as good on battery as 3.5.8. when DT gets 3.5.12 set up for th3ory roms, i will be switching to that.

Here's a modded version of 3.5.8 with the audio fix

2.0 tester build is up. I normally cannot tell much difference when it comes to "smoothness". This one I could. Best ever, and I am not even running using the ADW the compiled.

2.0 tester build of what? Shift or the kernel?

TESTER!!!!! Just for us Flash-a-Holics!!!!

THIS IS AOSP!!! Wipe Cache/Dalvik and Format System if you are already running my AOSP. Wipe Everything if not!!

Here guys... Give her a run... This is a mild merge and NOT AT ALL what our final will be. I can't be doing that.

Are you running it Dig, how is it? I was planning on flashing the new CM if I had time this weekend. Don't think I'll have time for both so I guess I'm flipping a coin

i have it downloaded but my battery is too low to flash right now. i will probably flash it later tonight.

sweet! ive gotta flash something soon before i start twitching :D

imos .12 kernel has not made my phone happy at all. ive been getting less than stellar battery life, and it seems a lil slower... but that may be the placebo affect again,as i read somewhere in the thread that changing kernels breaks ramdisk mods. think i may not be changing kernels in DT roms anymore

Haha, no worries. You really think it's that much improved over 1.2?

Well...I think it is improved. Like I said, I am normally not the type that jumps up and down shouting about how smooth a ROM is, but I really did notice an improvement. For one thing, it pulls its shit together faster on the first boot. And it seems like it enters and exits apps more...decisively. I overclock to 1.4, and I never really see many issues with graphics (screen sliding, etc.) on any ROM, so I got nothing there.

I have been using the eclipse kernel for a few days and it seems to work well for me.

Truthfully, I think things are rapidly kanging to the point that the quality differences between the ROMs and kernels is getting less and less pronounced. I think we now have a nice selection of sense, senseless, and AOSP roms that are all relatively high quality to choose from, so the choice becomes more feature and style driven.

It seems like there may be subtle shift in culture towards the senseless ROMS (what I and I guess some others call the HTC framework ROMS with most of the sense features like Rosie removed). You get the benefits of HTC (NFL network, sense 3.0 lockscreen, fully functional location) with some of the leanness and best of class approach of AOSP. From what I have read, battery life on the latest sense roms is good if not better than AOSP. I am not an open source religion kind of guy, so I don't have a philosophical dog in the fight. I may try nonsense next.

ive not experienced aywhere neat the battery life i get on aosp on any htc framework based rom-sense or senseless, tho admittedly only 2.11.605.0 based rom ive tried was the leaked RUU . i love the look and feel of AOSP,but i do miss "my verizon" since i need to keep a close tab on minutes.

still been meaning to try synergy, and prolly wouldnt mind giving either shifts3ns3 or senseless a try. i doubt ill stay away from aosp for very long, tho.
