[ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [05/23/11]

I flashed back to GB yesterday, played for a couple of hours, then restored my new nand of AOSP. Same issue as the other day, force closure like crazy. I wonder whats the problem. When I use GB I shouldn't choose to back up my data to google maybe.
I still don't see how 2 completely different nandroids have crapped out on me. The old liquid and stock nands loaded fine, just the AOSP was smacked.
Looks like I may just stick to AOSP until GB is stable and I can switch for good.

IMO, GB is stable now;), just without a camera:( Hopefully, camera will work soon:)
 
When I played around with it yesterday it didn't seem as smooth as AOSP. Switching through home screens seemed choppy. Maybe theres something I need to switch in the settings. I dunno. :)
I need the camera for work and my kids are young, so I take a lot of pictures of them. Hopefully it gets set up soon, so I can switch for good. ;)
Any suggestions are welcome. :)

Right now the launcher is Zeam so.... maybe try ADW or LauncherPro. I use the LP and don't have any trouble with the home screens.

Yep, in the same boat with the camera, I need it also but....
 
Hey new version is out. Still no camera, shiza!

I think I figured out my backup problems with AOSP. It only happens when I have the two point to blue theme on. If I don't flash that theme, it restores fine.

This has become too much damn information:p NO FUN, when flashing a new release and finding out what's new in the release for yourself:(

I got an idea;) Make a nandroid, flash the rom, find out what's new in the latest release:eek: What a cool concept:cool:

So is the latest release no longer UNSTABLE?? It's now sexy??

I just installed it to my extra hero......no service to it, so I can't do much....but it seems like all is well.....
 
What do you mean by no service to it, meaning you are disconnected from the Sprint service by design, or GB gives you no service ?? Or you simply testing GB with your phone without the service connected ?

The fact that the poster says "extra hero" ...to me this means that he/she is not connected to the Sprint service by design, and uses this phone to just play...testing GB... :)
 
Are many people jumping to this from AOSP's 2.2 rom?
Looks pretty stable now. And gotta love the camera.
I'm thinking about making the jump. Anything to be aware of? Is it much faster?

Do you need a special RA to install? somepeople were talking about the new ClockWork mod... I am still rocking the old RA 1.27 or whatever.

Not sure the old RA will Cut it.
Most have had the Best luck with CW 2.5.0.1 and CW 3.0.0.5
With the camera I am using as my everyday,.....it is stable....
BUT not as stable as .9.9.2 - Can't wait for this to get perfected then get the Trimmed and clean TRUE GBAOSPMOD....
 
I just updated to the latest version of 2.3 and lost all pics I had in my gallery and music that was downloaded on the music player 3. Don't really care about music, I can re download, but I never lost pics in gallery from switching roms, and I have a few I was swapping back and forth with. I guess if I really want pics back I could restore an older saved rom and save them to another computer or my sd card.

didn't happen to me, but has in the past ...they usually show up in the gallery in about a day. loving this gingerbread though.

Yeah, it is by design that that phone isn't connected....allowed me to learn to root and flash roms without the fear of ruining my everyday phone.

GB seems to function well, just haven't had the chance to test it on the network. Have played around with settings, used the camera, connected via wifi... I'm anxiously awaiting a STABLE version to get it going on my daily Hero.

I would consider this pretty darn stable, imo;)

That shouldn't happen...Those are stored on your ST Card....Installing a ROM wouldn't Change that..... Bunner....What'd you do?

He might have accidentally wiped the microSD card while in recovery. The options look similar depending on what recovery you are using for wiping various things.

I know my friend wiped his microSD card once by mistake because of that. Thankfully, he had backed it up to his computer recently.
