[ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [05/23/11]

I didn't realize how much GPS would be greatly missed until I was searching for directions using my location and it wouldn't lock. :( Oh well, I'll just have to input neighboring addresses until this is fixed :)

The weird part again it does not happen to everyone, mine has been flawless and yes my neighbor ends up in instanbul LOL you have to love it, they will iron it out I am sure

Ha ha yeah, I actually used it once in the 2/9 build and a took a few minutes to lock. That evening it was a no go. It'll be taken care of soon enough. Still, no complaints here since I'm able to use 2 OS upgrades that Sprint wasn't able to produce :)

I think I've found a solution to my swype input method problem. I've been installing it from the Swype Installer I already had downloaded, so I went to the beta.swype.com website and downloaded the installer from there and went through the install process again and it seems to be working OK (for the last 24 hours at least).

When dealing with Swype, it is always best to follow these directions when you are having trouble(as long as you are invited;))

1 Go into manage applications, go to Swype installer, clear cache, clear data, press force stop(probably grayed out), then uninstall

2 Go into manage applications, go to Swype, clear cache, clear data, press force stop, then uninstall

3 Reboot phone

4 Go to Swype | Text Input for Screens and sign in, download Swype installer

5 Download Swype

6 Enable Swype in Language and Keyboard

Essentially, this is the equivalent to the nightlies for Cyanogenmod, except aosp is developing the rom. So..... aosp putting out an update every couple of days, will not stop until there is a stable/final build. Every phone will act differently but I would say this rom is stable, so nandroid, wipe and flash:D

Nope it will be a WIP for a while, they will be tweaking things for a while adding and subtracting stuff to make it lighter faster and sting like a bee and fly like a butterfly ;)

anyone know Approzimatly when the stable/final build is coming in?

Also, Android 2.4, which is an extension to Gingerbread will show up in the next few months. I expect that will be either CyanogenMod 7.5 or CyanogenMod 8, plus vanilla AOSP Android 2.4. ;)

We are in very interesting times for custom ROMs for our handsets. I love it. :D

Haha. You can just hit up Google or Wikipedia for these terms, man. ;)

You will find a wealth of knowledge from both of those resources. I get lost in Wikipedia sometimes because I keep clicking on more related articles. :D

I'm really liking this new release, to me its a lot more smoother than the 2/10 release....two thumbs up for sure

Thanks AOSP n crew for all the hard n great work

The folks over at xda had a fix for the gps. Appears to be working for me.

Download MSLReader and run to get MSL#
Flash a Sense ROM (I chose Liquid Sense)
Update PRL if you want.
Enter ##gpsclrx# [MSL number ]
Reflash gb
Additionally, you can download gps status from market to reset data.

Has anyone experienced a phone call bug where you can't here the person on the other line? I've had it happen on a prior build and again on the 2/9 build. Hasn't happen with the latest. Further, when the bug occurs and I hang up the call I press the ringer volume up and get the in call volume setting, even though I have since hung up on the caller. It doesn't go away until a reboot is done.

I havn't pinpointed the cause. Anyone else experience this?

I just installed the rom and I'm getting really bad signal. Anybody else experience worse signal than before with this rom?

At my desk at work I don't have great signal, but it's never low enough to make the connection drop completely. This morning with CM 6.1 it was fine. I installed this rom and now I can't get any signal or network connection unless I hold it way up in the air. :(

Nope, all is good here, try booting into recovery and wipe cache and davlik
