[ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [05/23/11]

You are not forwarding your cell number, you are simply forwarding the no answer transfer *28 for your Vmail service, I simply use GV for dialing International calls to Canada, for free, of course that I use my cell minutes

Since were talking Google Voice a bit... When you forward to your GV number don't you lose your free cell to cell minutes? My understanding is that all GV connections are ground lines so they will count against your limited minutes. This is really the only thing holding me back from moving to GV

FYI, setting another number is fine, peeps will not have to use that number to call you, you can still use your existing number for GV and set up the Vmail once logged in, so only you will know that number if ever you want to use it, it also good to have is there is someone you do not want to give your number to you can give them your GV number

I had lunch today with a friend and that's exactly what he told me. I just didnt' want it because it's one more thing to have in addition to another log in name for each forum, site, etc. I use. But the idea of having another number does have it's advantages as you posted. Guess I'll be getting another number :) lol

Thanks!

It is not another login, you login in from your Gmail account

Nope nada here, all is fine, I would say flash and see, if you don't like Nandroid back, I would assume it is different for every phone as we all have different apps and set up

So, I have been hearing rumblings that the Android 2.3.3 update has caused some battery drain issues with the Google Nexus One: Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Update Killing Nexus One Battery Life? | Android Phone Fans .

Has anyone been experiencing that with the AOSP Android 2.3.3 update for the Sprint HTC Hero? I am still rocking a pre 3/1 AOSP Android 2.3 ROM at the moment and am curious.

Keepass is the app for all your numbers and passwords! I live by it!

As long as we're already off topic... I use my gv number for all my craigslist posts. Then I can screen, selectively dump to voice mail, or answer. Also never have to give out my cell number to strangers.

I am still running 2/22 and can't find anything wrong with it. I want to go Firerat or data2ext. That will prompt me to update. Any recommendations between Firerat or data2ext?

Yeah, that is actually pretty close to the date of the one I am running. However, the 3/1 and up AOSP Android 2.3.3 ROMs have been causing excessive battery drain with some Google Nexus One handsets.

Something that Google changed when they went from Android 2.3.2 to Android 2.3.3 is causing this battery drain. I was just getting a general consensus if people are experiencing that with the Sprint HTC Hero version of the ROM.

I am a Roboform man myself

The March 3 release is the way to go

Sounds spotty over on xda thread. Some claim to be getting 8hrs with watching a couple movies on the 3/2 build. That's beyond my wildest imagination for a smart phone.

I am just looking for more app space to milk more time from this phone. It's otherwise exceeding all my expectations with 2/22 GB. :-)

Yeah, I am very pleased with what I have right now. I will give 3/3 AOSP Android 2.3 a shot later.

I will monitor my battery life and see how it is. Thanks for the input, guys.

Here is my suggestion, use it for the weekend and allow the Rom to settle in before you decide, most Rom's are not great on battery when flashed

Yeah, I usually calibrate my battery stats after a few charging cycles after flashing a new ROM. I know they do improve on their own after a few charging cycles too. :)

I am going to flash the 3/3 AOSP Android 2.3 ROM shortly. Then I will test it out of the weekend as you suggested. ;)

Nope I use all Roms as stock, I don't clock them up, and don't use flashable themes, or any data space apps anymore, and have found that my phone is much more stable than it has ever been, so I don't push the envelope anymore. Now if there is an issue I am able to troubleshoot much easier, I personally think most of all that is overkill anyways IMO, but to each his own ;)

Either of you running Firerat or data2ext?

I'm with you on the themes, kernels and up until now the space savers. Right now need more space! My phone has always been stable overclocked.

IMO I have tried them all and come to really realize that there was not that much difference of doing all the extra Mods, but space is a different issue, I agree if you need space then yes I agree, Like I mentioned, to each his own ;)

Just upgraded from 2/22 to the 3/6. Fresh install and added Firerat mod. I am impressed! This little phone runs outstanding! I gained over 150mb in data with Firerat. Amazing!!!

Did you have to do anything special to make the market work?

And let me guess all you need now is a larger screen thrown in, LOL :D

Market is fine here, what is your issue with the market, sometimes it comes back after a day, also have you tried using the Market Doctor fix in TB
