im running revolution apex 1.1 can anyone explain to me in plain english if updating to 1.2 is needed?? i basically got my phone exactly where i want it and i dont want to go screw it up lolol!

2.2.1 is where the action is. If you aren't willing to take the plunge to the new bootloader, kernel, etc, you're probably fine where you are. I would totally recommend the upgrade though - my system is smoother, faster, and has fewer bugs than ever. (I'm using TranQ 3.5, but I'm sure the newest ApeX is as least as fast and useful)

I added the transitions to 1.2, and in 1.2.1, I added back the car docks. However, if you don't need the car docks, I think you're fine staying at 1.1 (even though you can update to 1.2.1 without wiping data)

Installing the REVOlution theme from the first post gives the transitions anyways...so, up to you :)
 
I'm sure its something I'm missing, but everytime I try to to Titanium Backup to restore my apps, my phone does the quick reboot (goes to the boot logo and quickly back into the system). I've reinstalled the app, made sure my SU is working properly, and redownloaded Busybox from inside the app.

Coming from the fresh leak and following all the instructions, the install went flawlessly. Titanium is the only problem I'm having so far. Anybody else seen this or have an idea of what might cause it?

This rom is great btw, have been using it almost 6.5 hours off of the charger with still 80% battery left, and that's with playing Angry Birds for about 30 min! The main thing I look for in a rom is battery life as I usually can't get but 10-12 hours out of mine. So far so good on Apex! Kudos Fab.

Hey Fab, have some more info on the Google voice search issue. Two buds here at work have a Dx and I tested the "send text" command on their phones. They have the exact same issue that Airmaxx and I experienced. Both of them are still on 2.3.15 and of course I'm on the leak. We're in Austin and wonder if you still think this is some type of network issue? Not sure where Airmaxx is located. TIA for any ideas you may have on this.

I'm in NY state, I used it quite a bit up until I installed the TBH 2.3.320 leak and it had always worked until then.

Cosmo, give vlingo a try, it's essentially the same thing.
 
Here's a question for you guys, are you contacts synced with Google, or do you back them up with some other sort of utility, i.e. Backup Assistant?

A good way to check this is to log into your (primary) Google account on the computer and look in contacts. If all your contacts are there, then they're synced with Google.

I looked through a lot of reviews of the voice search app on the market and a lot of people seem to be having this issue. Some said that syncing contacts with Google is required for it to work right.

mine are synced with my google and the send text thing on voice search doesnt work right for me.
also tried "call (whatever)" and that doesnt work either. but things like "navigate to" does work

Yep, all three of us here in Austin are syncing our contacts through Google.

Airmaxx, thanks for the vlingo suggestion. Have installed it and it works incredibly well. Would still love to know what is going on with Google voice search. I'm OCD like that. ;)
 
My contacts are synced with Google, I'm using Vlingo for now but would really like the google voice search to work.
 
hey airmaxx, have you tried to put an address into one of your contacts (one youve tried the send text thing on) and see if it will nav to that person.
like I tried my work
"sent text to work message test test" doesnt work
"call work" doesnt work
but "navigate to work" works
just curious if thats just mine or what

I just tried that and it works for me too...strange.
 
All of the sudden something is killing my battery really bad, when I checked My Battery use, it shows Android OS 35%,, usually is not that high, that means that there is probably an app or something running in the background,, it has being only 5 hours since I unplugged the phone, minimal use and I'm already at 50 %, and I'm using the extended battery, don't know if that matters, any ideas? is there a way i can tell which app is draining my battery if that were the case?

You can use the Spare Parts app to check the battery usage per app.
 
curious indeed, as I've never seen Android OS that high before. Do you see any suspicious processes when you click on Android OS (it lists all the processes it encompasses)
