Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Are the transition animations configurable? I dug around in ADW and didn't find it and didn't see anything in first post to indicate it could be changed through the scripts.

you can speed them up, slow down or turn off within the spareparts app.

whats the correct way to install the new update? i have the 2.3.15 running apex 1.0.2.2. OTA update failed to install. anyone have the file? i want ApeX 1.3!

I know how I did it but I would venture to guess that there's less steps I maybe could've taken. Yesterday I had the exact version of ApeX you have now.

Personally, I used RSD Lite 4.8 and SBF'd back to stock 2.3.15, applied the 2.3.340 OTA, installed z4root, rooted, created a backup of the rooted 2.3.340, installed ApeX 1.3.0 per Fab's instructions on post one of this thread and it went buttery smooth. Everything has worked flawlessly thus far.

2 options.... SBF back to 2.3.15 and run the OTA update to bring you up to .340 or SBF to .320

Once you are on .32 or .34 you can root, bootstrap, and install ApeX 1.3

Same here. UPEngineer, can you confirm that you are on Market V2.12?

Also, how are you recreating this error. Like, do you restore your apps with TiBu, then try to move them, or are you downloading the same app fresh from the market each time, and then moving it?

And lastly, I do quite the opposite. I move all my apps INTO internal storage. We have 8gb people, and it ain't doing anything else but store apps. Not to mention it's quite a bit faster than the microSD.

Yep, showing market on 2.12.

At first I restored apps & data (not system data) with Tibu and I thought that might be the problem. I uninstalled everything and redownloaded fresh from market and still same issue.

Something changed from 1.2.1 to 1.3 that is causing it, just can't figure it out.

Yeah, I forget we have 8 gig :).

Just don't like it when things don't work smoothly.....LOL

Will keep experimenting.

Thanks,

Just noticed something weird...battery was reporting 20% in battery manager, battstatt etc, then out of nowhere jumped to 5%...anyone know why this may have happened?

su
uninstall Madden.apk

Thanks Fab! Done!

For those who have installed ApeX 1.3.0 I think I see what you mean with the GB keyboard being small. Unless maybe what I am seeing is normal compared to the stock DX MT keyboard.

I guess my question is, how small is small? Im finding it a little hard to type. Should I give it a day or two to see if I get used to it?

Guess my fat fingers are used to those bigger keys.

Feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

Anytime I try to restore my apks with Titanium Backup OR install apps from the market my phone reboots before anything can install

this happened to me when i installed 1.2.1

you are gonna have to go into recovery and wipe data and cache. then reboot. it will work fine after that.

Can I still run the 928 Droid Theme for Droid X in order to Deodex now that I've gotten the latest System Update? I'm rooted, I but I assume I still need to do this step in order to apply this ROM?

Thanks!

You'll have a nice little brick if you use that!

Just get bootstrapper and you're all good to install the ROM. It will deodex for you ;)

Got tired of not knowing how to change the battery icon so I spent the afternoon between support calls learning where the icons are located and using 7-zip to change the images in 1.3 to the ones from Nextheme. Damn proud of myself! LOL

you dont have to this rom and most others are deodex already so no worries;)

Fab - just installed 1.3. What do I need to do to get ADB to recognize my X again?

Edit: Nevermind... Had to play around to get my laptop to recognize the drivers again.

Thanks, but when I try to install via ROM Manager, I select to clear data and cache, it reboots, I see the droid guy for a few seconds, bar starts to fill, then it displays a triangle with a ! and boots the phone normally from there. So I assume I'm missing something?

Sorry for the noobiddity.

Ok, I have been looking for the past two days and I feel pretty stupid asking this but it's driving me nvts so I'm going to give it a shot.

I have at the moment 3 other email accounts that I sync. Exchange, my domain and another one (my domain and the 3rd are pop3). Everything syncs fine and I pull the email no problem but I cannot for the life of me find out where I can go to those folders just from the app drawer etc to look at the mail I have other than my first default pop3 account and my gmail.

I have to wait for a notification on the Exchange and other Pop account then I can view my messages I have received, respond etc. I hope this is making sense. I have clicked my name in my default email and the app to see if that will allow me to view the other accounts but it brings up a folder list of that account (and that's ok with me and makes sense) I just have no idea where I can go to view my Exchange mail and the other Pop account.

Ok book over, thanks if anyone knows and if it's a slap your forehead moment because I looked right over it, pm me so I don't cry in public LOL :)

settings, applications, developement, usb debugging

ROM manager is broken for installing ROMs. If you used it to download ApeX, the file is here:

/sdcard/clockworkmod/downloads/fabdroid.com/

Just use bootstrapper to bootstrap and reboot into recovery manually, and install from there (instructions in first post)

Hey, if you have multiple Email accounts using the Blur app, you'll need to restore the universal inbox:

su
sys -rw
mv /system/app/Messaging.bak /system/app/Messaging.apk
sys -ro
sync

Then, you'll be able to access each inbox individually through the 'Messaging' app.

Ty very much, pasted this info to a text doc to do this later, I appreciate it :)

Fab, you are amazing!

Just flashed the .320 last night and installed ApeX with REVO theme and my phone is running amazingly better than ApeX 1.0

Just wanted to say this was my first rom ever fab and it went so smooth. Thanks for everything man, and make sure to give noobs like me a little instruction if you do give out an update.zip with the new battery meter.

Will donate to beer fund tonight!!
