Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Just tried this and am now stuck at the Android screen. It gets past the Moto symbol then show's Apex Android screen then just stays there until a system force close pops up.
here is you answer straight from the apex wiki;)

[edit] I get a message saying system not responding, force close or wait. What should I do?

In very rare instances, this error can occur. It usually happens after installing a theme that changes the services.jar, or from a random reboot. This happens because of my startup script, which may try to make changes to the system too early in the boot process, and cause it to be unresponsive. It is by default set to wait 42 seconds before attempting to make a change, and for the most part, this seems like it is sufficient.
Quick answer: Just hold down the power button until the menu comes up, hit reboot, and it should sort itself out.

Tried that but had to eventually do a restore from a previous backup from the ROM Manager.

Is Nandroid the better way to go for backups?

EDIT: Just tried this again and got the Force Close again but rebooted the phone and nopw all is good. Just couldn't give up. That's what backups are for.

Oh, I didn't know that, maybe because I don't use ApeX :D

i only had the massive amounts of reboots and the hard freezes, i need to format my sdcard and give it another shot, i meant to do it last night, but was expecting several phone calls and playing black ops so i decided not to try it

I tried Apex 1.3.1 for a couple of hours when I ported BWC for it. It's a nice ROM no doubt about it, but I prefer very little blur (non existent if possible) :D

Maybe I will try ApeX 1.4 when it comes out.

I really hope you will port the BWC them for 1.4 once it is released! That theme has really grown on me!

Will formatting your SDcard help phone performance?

got a big problem. since i updated my rom to apex 1.3.1 my home screen will rotate from portriat to landscape. Before when it was just the stock 2.3 on my droid x it didnt rotate on the home screen. i still want to be able to rotate it for the keyboard but not rotate on the home screens. how do i stop this???

one more question. i didnt make a back up when i used rom manager to install apex. reason is because i had to try rom manager 10 times for it to finaly work. boot strap works so much better now and rom manager to me is too buggy because it wont but into recovery like its suppose to do. so i didnt make a back up of my droid x rom. if i ever want to go back to the stock rom how would i do that??

Disabling it in your launcher settings.

disable it were? if i goto settings then display then uncheck auto rotate screen it shuts off the landscape keyboard screen in all app when i turn it to use that keyboard because its bigger.

Well, just finished watching the UK game, so gonna get some more work done on the toolbox script tonight.

It's working very well so far ;-)

It's over 1000 lines right now, I suspect it will be like 2500 when I'm finished. I also plan to add a "Restore Blur" option so you guys won't have to mess with a removedapp.zip file.

Whew. Anyways, I'll be letting people know on Twitter when it's ready for testers.
