Root [ROM][Beta][FINAL] CM7 Android For Triumph [Tickerguy Edition, Kernel: mine] 11/19

Please be specific as to the problems you're referring to.

If you're including long GPS lock times please read the first three posts as this is discussed in some detail.
 
Touch screen becomes unresponsive at random intervals. Factory reset clears up issue for a short period of time.
Soft-keys become unresponsive at random intervals.
GPS lag. (Testing connection between WiFi/GPS lag)
Poor reception.
Wifi connectiviity error. Power cycle fixes.
Widget distortion after opening gallery or any UI element that resizes the screen or is a different native resolution. Restarting UI fixes.
3G connectivity drops at random, requires reboot/data toggle to fix.
Bluetooth disconnects while connected to battery power. Remains constant on A/C power.
Bluetooth volume is low even at maximum volume, fails to maintain previous setting after use.
Email connectivity issues/download failures
Radio failure upon signal disconnect. Requires device to be power cycled.
[Several people have reported discoloration of screen (blue/yellow tint). This seems to be isolated to certain devices.]
Compass calibration does not seem to do anything.
Certain UI elements hang when scrolling.
Connectiviity drops from 3G to 1x when 3G network is available. GPS toggle fixes the problem for a short time
Video recording is choppy at any resolution. Audio warbles at higher resolutions.
LED notification will blink at random when no notification is present.
Android dictionary is missing from Stock Android Keyboard (no auto correct, no automatic period after double space).
Call forwarding options, which are mentioned in user manual, are not present in call settings menu.
When alarm is set, toggling airplane mode will deactivate the alarm notification on the lock screen. Alarm stays active.
Camera white balance issues. Bright lights/Flash in dark environments cause image discoloration/oversaturation.
Battery drain issues (seems to be connected to signal issues, phone will last around 48 hours with data disconnected).
Lock screen "pulses" when screen is powered on
 
That's a hell of a laundry list. I cannot provide you the sort of assurance you seek; if this is what you bring to the table as expectations for a software load to fix (e.g. color issues with the screen) please do not load or run any of my software builds. We'll both be happier.

I say this in particular because some of your list is explicitly idiotic. As just one example call forwarding / 3-way calling is explicitly not supported on Virgin Mobile at all at the carrier level, and therefore whether the button is there or not on the phone is utterly immaterial and listing it as a "bug" or "flaw" demonstrates a profound lack of understanding as to what you're buying. My build, for example, has the button present to add a 3-way call but it won't work if you try to use it as the network rejects the attempt.
 
i don't have the phone yet these are just some problems i see users having out of the box hopefully when i get mine i wont have any of these cross my fingers

i would say that this phone is working fairly well with this rom as we all have tested and allowed the devs to fix each problem. the way the phone works with cm7 vs stock i would suggest get cm7 since there is more support and will be fixed overtime. so yeah i give you two thumbs up on getting the phone now if you like. there is jsut two things that many guys are want to work but are on the list of things to be fixed is front facing camera and hdmi.:cool: on the good side its got gingerbread and full customization.:D
 
First of all let me say thank you very much for this ROM.
I just came across an issue when trying to wake the phone up the screen would not turn on, the phone woke up with a blank screen if i try to unlock it by swiping where the unlock should be it vibrates like it does when it works properly. so far it happened only once will let you know if it happens again.

I've seen the screen lag on wake as well. It isn't as bad right after a boot. Maybe related to the WiFi lock fix?

Did have one reboot earlier after using gps, but oddly it didn't reset my up time in the phone status, just the battery use time. Almost like a partial reboot. (Is that even possible?) Haven't had anymore reboots after subsequent gps uses.
 
I don't want to mung up this thread with un-related stuff, but isaacj87, can you post a link to your thread? I can't seem to track it down - I'm slow but stoopid:p

This is actually less helpful than just not posting at all. You have made the problem worse. You just made up a bunch of problems and wasted the developer's time sorting through them. They're not even real issues.

Please stick to actual things you see with the real phone, loaded with the latest software and aren't already known issues. That's the only thing anybody in this thread cares about.
 
Excellent job on getting the GPS working, and thank you for putting in so much time and effort on this ROM! :) CM7 has already greatly increased my phone's performance/battery life, and therefore I am in your debt. I may not be able to code, but I will certainly report bugs if I encounter them.
 
I have tried the gps out about 4-5 times throughout the day in 3 different locations all within 35miles or so of each other. Each attempt has been indoors and took between 40 and 70 seconds to get a fix with gps status. Later on I will be able to do a couple tries outside in a couple different locations still within that range.

I believe that I usually got a lock in under a minute on stock, but I didn't use it that often to be able to give a fair comparison.
 
I would like to report a HUGE improvement in battery life. I came to work Monday with a 100% charge. Phone was on from about 0730 - 2000 Monday and Tuesday with moderate use (background data was on both days) email, FB, texts, fantasy football, etc.

This morning my charge was still 35%!:eek::D:eek::D I'm on the 9/12 Noon Rom (today's will be coming as soon as I get home!).

Before Tickerguy's CM7, is was lucky to last one day with 15% remaining at night!

Can't say thank you enough (but no, I will not have your baby;))!
 
Awesome!! The only thing preventing me from using this at the moment is no haptic feedback and inconsistent backlighting on the soft keys. Great job!!
 
My GPS still dont work because i get the cant find location error. And i have a question are the signal bars and wifi supposed to be gree because mine is still whitr
 
I tested the GPS a bit more, took 139 seconds at a new location indoors. I tried a few locations outdoors and while driving and all of them we found within 2-10 seconds. Seems consistent with my phone on stock.
 
I got a GPS lock on my Triumph for the very first time, including when I was on stock. (I got a lock in like 3 minutes indoors? Not bad for the VERY FIRST TIME)

Thank you tickerguy. You and isaacj87 have truly taken this from a non-functional build to a daily one in just a little over a month. And in another month, this should be a fully functional build. :)

It doesn't really get a lock inside... but once you walk outside, it locks *snap* like that.
 
Ah this is great, thanks! I was using the previous build and love it. Can't wait for FFC, hope it comes easier. Also, I'm familiar with flashing but never upgraded a rom, can I just install the new build over the old, rename it to update.zip, or wipe and reflash? Kind of a pain reinstalling apps one by one even with Titanium Backup with the 120 and some odd apps I like.
 
I installed this ROM this morning, been running it all day, and I'm very happy with it. The GPS locks on fast outdoors, every thing works as expected, and the battery life is great. Its an awesome achievement for the Triumph. No going back to stock for me now..

My only complaint with the Triumph is when the GPS is on, the data speed drops from 3G to 1X and Google maps take forever to load map tiles. The data speeds
drop dramatically. This is for both this ROM and the stock ROM. It maybe a hardware issue, I dunno. But other than that minor issue , this ROM is totally awesome and I would again like to thank Ticker and Isaac for their time spent on getting this to where it is now. Great work!
 
Nice ROM, tickerguy. Trying it out now.

Since isaac discontinued his ROM, is there any chance that you can use the magical kernel he was using? People were getting like 4000-5000 on Quadrant with only 1.8-1.9 GHz.

I would really like to install that kernel.

It's kind of sad to see isaac discontinue D: *sniffle*
 
I`m still stunned to see such a disparity in GPS performance from person to person. Mine works flawlessly. Dead accurate and pretty quick lock ons as long as I`m not deep indoors (sub 30 second.) I did update my gps conf and run gpsfix early on but from there I`ve been good.
