Root [ROM][CM9 KANG][Alpha] Updated 3.5.5---6/27/12

This is cm9... how would you install this before you install this? :D

Just be aware that its still an alpha, meaning not everything works (namely the camera and the video playback)
 
sorry for being dum here but do u need to be rooted to do this? is there a vid on how to do this? never done this before but i want ics on my prevail

any help
 
You need cwm recovery. U can pop ur phone into download mode and flash that via odin, then flash this in cwm. Follow the directions for both, make sure you have the right boot loaders to if coming from froyo.
 
What's the difference between cm7 and cm9? Not trying to sound like an idiot, but this is the only Rom I haven't tried. Does it run better than cm7?

Cm7 is gingerbread (2.3.7)
Cm9 is ice cream sandwich (4.0)

Cm7 is fully functional.

Video playback and the camera don't work on cm9... beyond that its very functional
 
Yep, Hroark and Johnny and Team worked hard and spent a lot of time on this and finally got stopped by the lack of proper drivers (I think). I ran CM9 for 2 weeks and LOVED it! I have rarely used WIFI in the last year and get my MMS via 3g (1x). But, I have to have my camera and I even watch videos sometimes (LOL) so I reluctantly went back to CM7 (which is no slouch by any means).

But, if these are not restrictions for you, I highly recommend this ROM. It was stable as a rock for me other than that.

I do have to try the Final CTMOD 3.75 though...
 
As soon as this rom updates and everything works correctly, it's getting reflashed back to my prevail. Until then, I'm sticking to CM 3.75.2 final, which is also spectacular, though I much prefer this one.

Somewhere on this tread someone once said that the camera we have is the same as another phone. I beleive they said it was the LG Optimus V?? is there anything we can get from the LG to help get the camera? I have one in my house atm. someone please let me know.

I have several android devices. Running cm7, cm9, and jb.. Honestly, hroarks cm7 is the best rom for the prevail you will find if you like the ability to customize every aspect of your phone. Lots of people rave about cm9 but i personally prefer cm7 for the customization ability alsp the menus are a bit more detailed too in cm7.

@LV.. I have a sgtab2 10.1 also running paranoid android. Lol. I must say, this tegra3 is a beast as well.. Love it bro!! I also switch between that and the new sammy ota of Jelly bean. Never was a huge fan of TWiz but im pretty impressed.
 
i cant get WiFi to work i press the WiFi name and wont connect i
press and hold it and than press connect it wont work im use ing latest CM
:(

What's up Mavrikmeercat? Good to see ya around here buddy. It's been awhile. I'm like you bro. There's just something about CM7. It's is definitely one of my all time favorite ROMs.

These prevail forums are my home man. Where I learned all about modding and developing android so I always check the threads from time to time to maybe help someone out. I dont always comment but I do check in. Just like you and LV :)

@Skater, no intent to imply that the rom you made wasn't/isn't any good cuz it's pretty dam sweet. I just meant that cm7 was best for total customization.
I just read my post and thought it could have been taken that way by someone..
