Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

Where can I find the stock email app? I miss it :(

Known bugs:
Flashlight widget doesn't work

How to add removed apk's:

➯ Download this: RemovedApps.zip

A lot of apps were removed in the rom, if its not in the above zip its either worthless, broke during the deodex or can be installed with the Market.

You can either use adb, a root explorer or flash them through CWM by doing this:

➯ Download this: ApkInstaller.zip
➯ Open it using 7zip
➯ Drag and drop the apk's you need to the system/app folder in the zip
➯ Put ApkInstaller.zip on your sdcard
➯ Boot into CWM and flash it
➯ Thats it

Perhaps here? :D

Got a question Blood. And if has been answered before I apologize. But why is it needed to use the Apkinstaller.zip to install either removed programs or update Google play? On any other ROM Google play automatically updates.

Its not NEEDED... its just easier than telling someone to copy it to /system/app, using a file explorer with su, then set the permissions to rw-r-r... and as far as I can tell, Google play still updates itself as expected.

Edit- if you are referring to the need to flash a gapps package (on the cm & aokp ROMs), that has to do with an agreement that cyanogen and Google made. Google was unhappy with their apps being included in a rom with such a huge following and threatened legal action against the cyanogen team.

They eventually settled on a compromise, that compromise was that the apps could be provided as a separate download and installed seperate from the rom... hence gapps was born :)

I just keep bloodawn's removedapps zip uncompressed on my sd card. Then I make sure I have install from unknown sources checked. Navigate to the removed apps folder and install the app (email for example) by selecting it and installing with the package installer. I have never had any issues doing it this way.

Leaving it uncompressed is taking up more space. You install the ones you want but you're still left with the other useless apps sitting there. Easier to open the zip, remove the ones you don't want, and flash them all in one shot. I'm sure it works fine, it just seems like a lot of unnecessary work.

WooooHoooo...... this thing is flying!! I Downloaded Pimper, added a few tweaks and it looks like they worked.

Thanks for mentioning 'Pimp My Rom'. After downloading and implementing the tweaks my system is snappier and what's interesting is I have been able to run lagfree/deadline 1000/120mhz without lag or freeze ups. After 7+ hours I'm still at 86% battery. Very impressive!

I could never keep the low end at 120mhz before. It would always act weird or my battery would drain faster.

Glad it helped out. :)

Hey all, I'm pretty new to the forums here but after flashing 3.75, I noticed MMS wasn't working anymore.

I should note that I'm on Ting.

Here's the steps Ting support gave me (and it worked!)

Type in ##3282#
Select MMSC
Edit
Enter your unlock code (you probably have to call Ting to get it)
MMSC URL
Change to "http://mms.plspictures.com
OK

Back out and head to Settings
Update Phone
Profile Update
Then reboot.

Badabing badaboom. MMS restored.

Yes, I see your point, and I have done it that way too. But I have an 8GB card, so space really isn't the issue. It's only 14mb unzipped. What is that, 5-6 songs? And I never know what I may need. Today for example, I needed the flash player, and there it is on the disk. I had no use for it until today, and I didn't have to go to the market to get it or reboot to recovery to install it. But I am glad I had it there.

To each his own...

I might be going crazy but has anyone else ever had their phone freeze had to reboot it and then the battery level is noticeably lower?

hey I was wondering does it matter if I have boost mobile and I flashed to sprint ctmod final? because I have download the boost mobile one several time and my battery is dying ,freezing and over heating.

Have you guys encountered this problem? I have when I watch movies on my phone or run Netflix. The phone will put itself into 1400Mhz or 1360Mhz on performance. Stays at those numbers even when I change the governor to something else. I must reboot to fix it.

No problem here. Netflix runs without any problems on mine. I run at 1300 most of the time with the gov. set to lag free. It doesn't move from those settings. Have you tired another app for adjusting the kernel? Setcpu or CPUMaster are two other choices.

I've had all those crappy things happen.

I think the mediafire file may be bad I flashed/wiped way over 10 times & kept having problems even after a new download. First try with the goo file flashed perfect.

Can you do and md5 check on the files downloaded from mediafire and goo? That will tell you whether they are the same file or not.

Yes...lol This is a well known issue in the TING forums. Because TING uses the SPRINT network, it does not run everything, like MMS, through SPRINT, it keeps it separate through TING. So MMS was technically 'broken' because the SPRINT address is the default found in ROMs of all kinds. TING uses the address mms.plspictures and you had to change it to that for MMS to work properly.

Remember, if you have issues, it could be specific to TING and to check out the forums there...especially the HACKS section. Other TING users and even the TING personnel respond to inquiries there.

wetbiker7,
what you mean by CWM will kill your battery.
Which CWM you talking about???? and how disable it/uninstall it??

Thanks.

CWM (ClockWorkMod) is the recovery you are running if you have rooted your Marquee. I take it you have since this is in the CTMod thread.

When you are in CWM, the battery drain is much more so than when you are just running the ROM. A good example is when you do a recovery backup in CWM. It will drain your battery faster than if your using CTMod.

That is why I make sure I have decent amount of charge on my battery (25% or more) when making a backup or doing anything else in CWM. It's better to be safe than sorry. lol;)
