Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

If I use Titanium, I select the option to install the app only with no data. I've had good results so far. Installing old data with an app on a new ROM is asking for trouble.

@BloodDawn

I am at the 3 week mark I believe and this ROM is just rockin' so sweetly! I don't think I have had a single problem. After (possibly) a few tiny oddities that I now believe were not related the first week.

I have not had the 40hour lockup but I have not toyed with the governor either.

I truly love the FOLDERS feature!

Overall, my phone has performed well and responsiveness has been crisp. Really nice. Lots of little tweaks and hidden goodies that I am still discovering.

I am glad I stumbled across this ROM and decided to go for it. WOW!

ok, im not new to phone flashing, but am new here to an forums, anyway, i flashed the marquee about a month ago, was testing out various things, tried to BT pair with wifes transform, and BT kept FC'ing on me. Hers is Megatron rom on it, and had no problems pariing with other devices. Earlier this week, was also trying to pair ps3 controller, had MAC set as needed, but would not pickup controller device. BT didn't crash this time... wondering if you know anything about how BT is functioning fully or not

Does the screen stop responding to the touch for anyone else? Once in a while the screen becomes very slow to respond to touches and then it eventually stops responding at all, while the hard buttons still work. I have to do a VolumeUp + Power reboot to get the touch screen back. I'm still on 3.68
I'm thinking that I should start scheduling an early morning reboot so I start each day fresh.

That would be the dreaded 30-40 hour lockup that we've been talking about.

Ah so only the touch screen locks up? I thought the entire phone would just freeze, the hard buttons would not work either.

And does the freeze happen on 3.68 too or only on 3.75?

My phone has been up for many days without problems. I guess it finally got to it too.

Idk, the hard buttons won't work for me I have to battery pull. Both 3.68 & 3.75. Ya mine was cool for a long time too. Then like you one day it just started happening.

So I enabled Zcache today. Man it really makes a difference!

I know some of you are having trouble with the phone freezing after a day or two. Just remember to reboot the phone once a day. It's actually recommended by carriers to reboot your device once in a 24 hour period anyways.

Probably because their proprietary cra..stuff leaks memory and they can't be bothered to fix it. Yeah I'm an old UNIX snob lol. :p

Has anyone with the freezing problem tried going back to stock, then flashing again?

Won't fix it because it's in the Hyper kernel.

Ya know. I STILL do not understand why some people are making such a big deal out of having to reboot their phone once a day either. It takes like what...... 6 minutes? How hard is it to reboot the phone and let it boot back up while you're eating lunch or something.

Tell the Mrs. of the house to reboot her phone every day... What?! What do you mean? It's a phone, not a computer... or so she claims. So I have to schedule an automatic reboot every night, hopefully the phone will be stable enough to execute the reboot :)

Instead of telling the wife, just do it yourself. That's what I would do, anyways.

If your phone is not stable enough to execute a reboot, you need to REINSTALL THE ROM!

Do you guys have anything better to do besides bitch and whine over rebooting a damn phone! Ridiculous!! It is what it is people. You know it, I know it. It just is. Blood may get it fixed and he may not. Rebooting a phone once a day REALLY isn't what I would call a problem. Hell, I do it anyways when I'm changing batteries. It gets old coming in here and reading about someone having their phone freeze on them. READ THE THREAD.... IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE! Live with it or don't run the ROM. It REALLY is that simple.

I like to think of it like this... In Bloodawn's rom there is a tiny little bloodroid constantly working to keep things going... juggling this and juggling that. tweaking this and tweaking that. That little bloodroid is working his butt off in the background so you can have a freaking fast phone. Every forty hours or so he needs a break. Wouldn't you?

I appreciate you little bloodroid, and if you need a quick little nap (reboot), that is quite fine with me.

Maybe some here should do the same and think about it. We would all be better off.

Hey all. It's been a few months since I've been on here posting. Always reading up on things when I can. Anyway... have the latest CT mod and like most I have had the experience of rebooting at least once a day. Not a complaint: promise. : )
Was wondering if I have the wrong settings in my CPU master. Any suggestions for best performance would be appreciated. As a side note I think the latest version of maxthon browser may be playing havoc with my phone. Any better browser suggestions? Just to clarify. LOVE bloodawns work and have been running CT mod since I rooted my phone. Also a shout out to Wetbiker!

The browser on the newest version of CTMod Is Boat browser. If you're having problems with it try wiping its data and uninstalling it. Then download from Play and see if that helps. I'm running Boat and haven't had any issues with it. Its a good browser.

I don't think you can uninstall it unless you delete the apk from /sys/apps? Not sure, but at least a couple of the other preinstalled ctmod apps I couldn't uninstall. I ended up freezing with Titanium backup.

I actually didn't know about boat browser until I saw it in CTmod. I'm running then mini/lite version from the market now as my main browser, and it is SOLID! :)

Yeah, you can remove them from system/apps. You should also be able to use Titanium and convert it to a non system app and get rid of it that way.
