Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/01/13)

i can get the phone to connect to the BT hands free in my car (motorolla brand). but when i give the voice command to place a call, it fails. the phone doesnt even go to the dialer....nothing happens, then it kinda freezes or disconnects.

i tried the bluetooth fix a few posts up and the 2.2 and 2.0 kernel. nothing changed.

could deleting the music.apk have caused this? if so, how can i get it back?

The stock music app is required for bluetooth to work. Try adding it back to /system/app and reboot then BT will probably be fine.

You can pull the apk out of the rom's zip.

Tried it without success. your efforts are much appreciated. i have no idea why this wont work.

Do you think it is possible that another rom could work or do you think it is some kind of incompatibility with my hands free BT. The hands free works with my lg optimus v and a blackberry.

Try marky beats or the stock rooted rom.
 
Why don't you try flashing the ROM again along with the bluetooth zip fix I posted. See if your bluetooth will work then. Don't add any apps before trying it out. Also, don't remove anything either, especially the music apk.

Also, before flashing, do a factory reset then flash the CTMOD zip, go to ADVANCED and select REBOOT RECOVERY, then flash the bluetooth fix zip, then reboot.

I have a feeling your bluetooth is gonna work just fine if you follow the steps I've just given. :D

Is short battery life a phone issue ROM issue or kernel issue? Is anyone familiar with the recommendations in this thread

There's isn't any problems with battery life. My marquee would get around 2 or 3 days off a charge with the stock battery and with heavy use I'd still get over 24 hours.

If you do have it drain quick it's either your app/settings setup or your battery is messed up.

You seem very smart, so i trust you. I just got this phone refurb from ting (sprint reseller). the battery is a Feipusi 1900mAH.

So if I understand correctly,I do not need to make any of the tweaks in the thread I linked a few posts above.

Do you think i should get a new battery? is there a more reliable brand? I was thinknig about this one:

I've only ever used OEM batteries for my devices since I've never had any problems with them. theres probably other good brands but I just haven't tried them. heres what my phone has: Original LG Standard Battery BL-44JN amazon or someplace might have it too.

btw, thanks for the donation bro, I appreciate it.
 
CT Mod won't let me play plants vs. Zombies every time I load it up it gives this message any help please?

Well no I got it from a black market called aptoide and yea I'm on wifi. But the one I got from aptoide works with marky beats and its the same apk.

boot up and log into your google account, the Market will have to update itself to the Play Store I think
once thats done open it up and go to My Apps and update all the Google apps

now you can install YouTube/Google Play Services and everything should work fine.

dunno man. I searched the error you got and people on other phones/tablets have had it too but I didn't see why it happens or how to stop it.
 
Well maybe you deleted something from the build.prop cuz Marky beats has build.prop tweaks but the developer didn't clean the build.prop so maybe that's why its not working. Its only an estimate, not completely positive about that but yea

throw the MB build.prop on your phone and reboot. see if it works.
 
Won't it like brick or something since its a different build.prop that is not compatible with CT Mod. Won't it affect CT Mod settings and from using the built it screenshot feature?

nah. only thing it will do is tell you the wrong info in about phone and it won't have some of my tweaks.
 
I have no idea what you guys are doing wrong. When G-Talk is installed correctly it WILL work. I used mine for months.

EDIT; Why not just start with a fresh flash of CTMod. That should fix it. Make sure you do a factory reset before doing anything.
 
Hhmm well isn't there like a way to combine them together? Maybe that can be a good thing cuz you can get tweaks from MB and CT Mod

Of course. you've more than earned it!

I took a look at the battery stats. After a full charge, I have been on battery for 1hr and 36 minutes. I am left with 75% charge. cell signal used 50%, phone idle used 47% and display used 5%.

Is this helpful? do you think i have a bad battery or is there a setting i should change. i did not have BT, WIFI or GPS on during this period.

how many bars is your signal usually? 50% seems like a lot for cell standby to be using unless your signal isn't very good where your at. when cell service isn't that strong it drains the battery a lot quicker. phone idle also seems high for some reason like some app is always running when the screen is off.

either way tho a new battery probably wouldn't hurt.
