Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

all you have to do is get ingo a2sd mod....
boot into CWM go into mounts...by default its gonna say its already mounted...
click data and system now the should read unmount...
next go and flash the mod...

it should work perfectly:):):):)

and by the way with all of wat the devs like hoark,shabby,bloodawn and etc...have done with this phone...IPHONE CANT TOUCH IT LOL!!!!

I've done that several times already. Like I said, I'm gonna give it one more shot to fix it. Props to the Devs for doing this stuff, but at the same time I am using valuable time testing this out by trial and error, basing what I read through a somewhat fragmented instruction set. They do good work, but the difference between Android and the iPhone is that you have to find a ROM thats in constant Beta (outside of CyanMods that are stable) for a lot of different devices, with a lot of bugs and hardware issues that make the Mod incomplete.

BTW, the iPhone is a way better device than the Prevail. You know, something about say, dual core processor, better camera and screen resolution, etc. Oh, and it has lots of internal storage as well. Once the 5 comes out, I'm done with Android.

Update:finally got it working, and thanks for the info about ingo's a2sd. I was using Darktremor's that worked for hroark's mod. After 4 hours since I accidentally flashed the ROM instead of the patch (because the patch link was actually the ROM), I can go back and spend another hour restoring the apps and settings. I have to remind myself that this is a phone. It's becoming less than that, and more of a PITA.

BTW, this ROM is awesome.
 
Downloaded the patch, thought I had problems because the boot screen went to a black screen and stopped. Rebooted once or twice, and just waited and voila, 2.1! havent messed with it to much, but Im sure its gonna be just as wonderful, if not more wonderful then 2.0! Good job Bloodawn

Is it just me, or does/would anyone else find it rather sad that a speedtest.net run off my laptop, using a hotel wifi is only getting ~50k DL and a speedtest.net run off the prevail, is getting 120-130ish? All the more reason to tether I suppose :P

yea it will take a while to boot the first time since i removed the data throttle

I know you made this mod light and breazy, and I like it. the camera thing- I just put the old camera back in and took the other one out, set permissions and rebooted and the button works fine. its a little heavier on memory but not much. for those that want the button to work for now.

thats just a personal change I did. i wanted all the buttons to work
Idont want to take anything away from the great work Bloodawn gave us at all

if i knew what to look for and where to look i would certainly try to find a way for the other camera to work with the button, but i'm not a guru like you guys
 
I don't mean to be clueless, but how do you actually apply the 2.1 patch without starting the process over? :)
 
Darn, I wish I would have noticed you were going to put out 2.1
I made a single line change to the init.rc that gets rid of the color codes that seem to only appear in ADB when using CTmod.

Oh well, I guess I'll just go back to messing with getting bootanimation integrated properly

Installation:
1) copy the zip to your sdcard
2) boot into CWM and select install zip from sdcard
3) select choose zip from sdcard
4) select the CTPatch2.1.zip
5) select Yes
6) after it is done installing Press back button
7) select Reboot System Now

I think this would work

:confused: And it sure as hell better be at four times the price. it just doesn't let you learn the way android does. everyone's is the same and..

Let's face it: We LOVE this SHIT!

You either buy a Prevail because you cannot afford anything else and/or want to play with the phone (surprisingly, many times both).

If neither of these apply: Get the Apple. It will work and you will PAY out the ass for it in every way. Possibly the biggest cost being the education and entertainment value you will lose out on. But, everyone is different...

Oh, almost forgot. I also am on the patch. Workes great. Does take a few minutes to boot, as stated. Great not to have to redo everything from scratch. Have not had time to test out 3g but sounds exciting.

Excellent work is starting to sound redundant. But, don't let that let you slack off, Blood. You could probably form a cult. Ala Tyler Durden in Fight Club

I assume you can still "jailbreak" them, but I am not sure why you would and it probably would cross the line into some REAL illegality as in stealing stuff since Apple charges for everything you do or want to do. But, they make it easy to pay for it if you got the bucks.

Different philosophy with Android. (WIFI hotspot is possibly a bone of contention but it is INNATELY part of the OPEN Android operating system and has been shut down by the carriers to make mo money, ignoring the increased data usage issues associated with this because I prefer to).
 
ok back on track- sorry for veering off like that

the patch works fine on mine, about the same if not just a tad faster on downloads.
but where i live (boonies) , signal n all limits things too
 
just installed this mod and I'm lonin it! quick question...i cant seem to get task manager to reinstall. i had it on the stock gb rom and titanium just keeps circling. any ideas? other than that all is well.

nevermind, i just figured it out. had no idea that apk was named jobmanager.
 
Before I install, does that 3g speed need to be changed in the ##3282# because I changed mine to 0.0.0.0 which increased it.. if I upgrade to the latest 2.1, it will be already set?
