Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

i noticed that a handful of apps don't want to be installed (via titanium's backups restored) with ctmod/GB, has anyone started working on a list of old apps that are incompatible and/or if they can be reconciled at some point?

for example, the stock camera app (camera button not working), voice dialer, task manager, gallery, etc..

i'm not sure if the problem is with titanium restore or ctmod or GB or (or possibly A2SD??) some kind of combination of each

just know that i can't get some apps to install

other than that most of the stuff works ok, the system seems pretty stable and good speed

and to be perfectly honest even though cyanogen has higher quadrant scores, i haven't noticed any real world difference using apps and such, and cyanogen is still far more buggy, so it looks like i'll be sticking with ctmod for now, and keep my fingers crossed that these few minor bugs can be worked out

looking forward to the updates :)

I haven't had any trouble putting in apps like Camera.apk
I think the problem is with Titanium. I never liked that app, and I never use it.
It's just so much simpler, faster and easier (to me at least) to just do things manually

Don't try to restore a system app from a different OS or rom, specially if the rom that you backed up the app on wasn't deodex'd

the app zip in the first post should have everything you need
 
I had no problem with the stock camera, before I flashed the Rom the switched out the camera apps and added gallery3d and switched out zeam for launcher pro. I use titiaum back up, when I restore apps, I restore just the app not the app and data. Just as a side note I also put on as2ds and it works awesome !! I now have plants vs zombies again !!

Excellent advice especially since Amazon's store app, loves to just stay running. I noticed back in the Shabbymod days how it's as bad as Maps. It loves reopen itself in the background. Force close it and it comes back to life. Just wasting precious battery cycles. Going to the site in the browser definitely is a way to avoid this issue.
 
So far loving the rom. Thank You. A crazy noobish question, but how do I get the microphone back to my keyboard? My fat fingers are screwing up my texts. Thanks again.

Thanks Kouma. That was easy. Unfortunately I am now having issues installing dta2sd. I posted my issues in that section and I am hoping that I can get everything going smoothly again. Gingerbread, CTMOD 2.1 and dta2sd all working together would make for one slick ride. Thanks again.
 
Ok so i figured id try lizz options, i re falshed rom and now i have no doc---i re-flashed again and same thing no doc..

easy fix .. info taken from the First post of this thread
If the launcher dock doesn't show up just hit menu/applications and drag what you want to your screen then dock

I just installed boot fix. Xouldthat make a2sd not work? I formatted extra in cwm mounted data Ans system and installed a2sd but nothing

I typically reinstall a2sd after installing anything that makes any changes to the /data partition. Also, before I start the a2sd install, I go into the Mounts and Storage option and mount all of the filesytems (system, data, cache, sdcard, sd-ext) it makes the install go a lot more smoothly
 
OK thanks worked :-) rom runs smooth other the GPS not finding location and mail crashing non stop after setting up my exchange account.
 
Please make a vid.. i have a prevail and it doesnt give me the option to download the zip file or boot the file either.. got stuck in the process please get a vid.
 
email fix works great GPS still half tarded LOL. battery been charging for over a hour and stays at 99% LOL odd but idc

are you running current version of cwm
you have to be using GB if your using CM7 it wont work. Odin stock rom. if not using it.
after that Odin cwm (new version)
put CTmod on SD boot to recovery then do a reset/wipe.
then install zip from your SD
