I've heard this ROM is right around the corner for Evo users. I have not been able to find out too much information about it. Seems to be stock froyo with tweaks, correct?

If everything works this might be the ROM I've been waiting for.

yep, it's the reason I rooted my phone. The guys a beast with roms supposedly. And I didn't want to wait until HTC pushed the froyo update.

This sounds pretty awesome but with nightly updates, it doesn't seem like an everyday use ROM yet.

Its not really. THey will be continuing to update over the coming weeks. Right now FM radio, WiMax, and several other things don't work. But its the only Froyo out with working cameras, so I'm trying it out tonight.

I am debating whether or not I want to try this now or wait for DC 3.5 with froyo.

just flashed the nightly. crazy fast browser. by far the fastest i've seen on a mobile device. my signal is a bit weak though.

how far away is dc 3.5

We were expecting it last week but one of the Dev's phones was destroyed due to an unfortunate drop... Hopefully the other Dev can pick up the slack but I think it should drop in the next 1-2 weeks...

I had been holding off on installing a Froyo ROM, and when I finally decide to do it, there's Cyanogen et al to the rescue. I flashed this ROM first thing this morning after getting to work, and aside from not being able to download certain apps from the app store, I'm completely satisfied and I won't ever be going back to 2.1. I'm also apparently immune to most of the bugs that some are reporting. Bluetooth connection to Sync in my truck works great, as well as wifi.

On a side note, I had been a little leery about ditching Sense but I've found that I like the AOSP flavor of Android a lot better.

AOSP isn't the prettiest UI in the world, but IMO it's a lot more functional and open than Sense (which I also think is not the prettiest UI out there).
