[ROM] CyanogenMod 7.0.0 Stable 4/10/11

I went from Aosp GB 3/8 build to CM 7 stable and have truly noticed almost no difference. There is no lag to speak of for me. Maybe I am missing something, dunno. Of course, now I'll have to try the new Aosp and see if that is the difference maker. :)

I just used gnav for over two hours today without a reboot. That's a first in a long time. I think I will hold off on trying Asops 4/21 until it settles.

Finally got around to flashing the ROM and gapps in the op. Latest CyanogenMod recovery image. Love it except I haven't found out a way to change the home screen wallpaper to a picture in my gallery file. Anyone know how?

You should be able to just hit menu on the home screen, choose wallpaper and select gallery and choose any picture from your gallery. Or goto the gallery open a picture choose menu then more at the bottom and choose set as and select wallpaper.

Thanks. After posting I rebooted my phone and found my home screen wallpaper was changed. Now it is what I want. Reilly cool rom. Much faster and smoother than CM 6 was.

This rom is really sweet! My brither gave me this Sprint Hero and it had a quirky version of CM 6 on it. I was thinking about throwing the damn thing against a brick wall for awhile. No data connection, so no new apps or updates. Quirky apps, many ran sometimes them froze up. I mainly just used the phone for calls, text, and keeping an eye on email since it would still get a data connection for the interweb.

But this rom just blows me away! Now I see why people love their Android phones. I have been using the rom with no problems at all since i flashed it. Super fast, smooth, and best of all, it works. All the apps I want, with a few that had to be moved to the SD because I was low on space. (the CM6 rom was quirky with apps on SD too) The only things that have caused me to go "Hmmmmmm" have been my own mistakes.

Just flashed that version of CM7 and it's busy syncing contacts, etc. The first thing I tried to do was check the Camera and I'm unable to launch it, stops unexpectedly immediately and I'm forced to Force Close. Anyone else having a problem with the camera?

Edit: I see there is 7.0.2 on CM's website. I'm going to wipe and flash that to see if it fixes my issues. :)

Edit: Update fixed it. :D

Yeah. I believe that CyanogenMod 7.0.2 fixed the camera bug that was in CyanogenMod 7.0.1. ;)

That was one of the few bugs that caused CyanogenMod 7.0.1 to be quickly pulled. Last minute bugs are always a chore. :)

So I flashed this a couple days ago and so far it's great, I upgraded from CM6 (yeah I know, I've been out of the loop for awhile), the only thing I miss from cm6 is quickoffice, can anyone pont me towards an apk for that? Also, does anyone know where I can find an apk for VVM?

thanks
