Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 9 for the LG Spectrum 4G LGVS920

I have tried syncing with Google contacts. Exporting to SD card and back up with from toolbox pro. Not sure how to do it with titanium. It seems to sync my contacts from my email and not from my phone. Its mostly email addresses that gets synced

When you save the contact in your phone there's an option to save with google, backup assistant, or simply. I you have to chose Google or that won't work

enabling on screen keys eventually sent me into a bootloop of death....... took me hours to find the right method to get it back to life... but 4g and built in tether work beautifully

Why on earth would you want the on screen keys if you already have some that are on the phone. This logic makes no sense. I think it is a waste of precious screen space. It is just unnecessary.

MMS is not working still. Everything I've found points to the fact that our phone isn't reading the MDN properly. Without the MDN, our phone can't send the correct info to the MMS string (I really hate how they implimented it) and it therefor cause the file to return a destination error. This will most likely not be a fun or easy fix unless we try piggybacking on some other MMS uaProfUrl string for a different phone model (ie something that doesn't use uaprof.vtext.com)
here in a bit I will try to compile a new Mms.apk to try out. IIRC the MDN can be set in the build.prop and we can set any uaProfURL in the overlay for the Mms.apk. Just have to find one that works. ;) I know of a few to try tho. ;)

By the by, our provisioning issue is also tied to our MDN not being read. No MDN means no WAP login means no provisioning. Food for thought for how deep this issue is going to go.

I found the string in the D3 build prop.

# BEGIN Motorola, nfjb73 23-jun-2010, IKMAIN-624
# this is for feature 33860, when phone is activated, the cdma mdn is written.
persist.radio.vzw.cdma.mdn=
# END Motorola, nfjb73

As far as I can tell, it's only written once activated and our phone fails activation. I'm sure someone could try manually entering this in, but I don't know if that will fix our issue or not. It would also mean everyone would need to edit their own build.prop on install.

Tell me what to type out and I'll change mine and report back if it works

K let me check it out

Ok I'm confused. What line in build prop am I actually changing. I don't see anything that says mdn
your adding this line:
Code:
persist.radio.vzw.cdma.mdn=
+your 10 digit phone #

adding it to the bottom of the build.prop will work fine n make it easier to find. Prolly wouldnt hurt to add a comment above it either like so
Code:
## my MDN
persist.radio.vzw.cdma.mdn=my-10-digit-phone-#

I did this saved and rebooted, no success. I did it without the hyphens in it though. Don't know if it makes a difference but I'll try with them next.

Edit:
tried it with the hyphens still no luck.

what i did find while I was looking for a place to put it was that there was this line about the voicemail.

Code:
ro.cdma.voicemail.number=mine

going to try it with "mine" and see if this works

Edit:
That didn't work either i don't know what is causing it.
I was thinking about flashing a rom that I can activate. Then when I activate it I'll look through the build prop for something about the mms or something.

that build property may not be included in the spectrum...

I can't seem to get 4g.. I have 3g, and where it should list my service it says 'Roaming Indicator off' or something of that nature. Did a speed test to verify, it is indeed only 3g (for me), just before shutting down to revert to stock ics, I noticed it rebooted right after (even though I clicked shut down, not restart) and about 2 seconds after the CM dude turns mean or whatever, it would reboot, and do the same thing. Not sure if the bootloop at the end means anything.. just a heads up.

Edit -- Nevermind about the 3g.. reverted back to stock ICS and also stuck on 3g there.. it's a foggy morning, doesn't suprise me.

Odd question.. is there *any* chance of lg spectrum getting GSM unlock? I'm moving back to asia in january and I'd really love to be able to use it there :x

There is always a chance, it's just a matter of which dev wants to try and tackle it and what the priority level of it is. If the D4 is any indication, once we actually get this to activate properly, there is a very good chance that GSM will work properly too. The problem is that Verizon locked the D4 radio to only accept SIM cards from outside the US and most likely will have done the same for the Spectrum. One step at a time though, as MMS and activation are the two big issues at the moment.
