Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 9 for the LG Spectrum 4G LGVS920

4G is working great for me, seems faster than before, have rebooted several times, used the notification drawer to turn it on and off... Everything else I've tried so far is working great too, very smooth! Going to start restoring apps, so we'll see how that goes, but probably going to keep this as my daily driver! Thanks so much to all the devs for all their hard work!

I restored all my apps and they seem to work perfectly fine

From the land of all things strange and mysterious...

6mb down twice in a row...

Turn radio off and back on...

29mb and 40(!!!)mb down.

Now all I need to do is remember to toggle the radio before downloading anything. Damn...

Edit: (Nova shortcut - activities - settings - testing) puts a shortcut to the page you use to toggle the radio on your home screen. w00t

I probably would make a ROM based off this but you know you guys put to much work into this and if I did make a ROM it would seem like I'm just a bystander just taking all of your guys work but anyways great job for getting data to work!

What would you add to CM?? lol

Downloading now... It'll be great to have a proper cm9 on this phone!

I use my phone for work, so is there anything not working I should know about?

GPS & MMS working??

I updated the OP with death's build too. ;)
MMS is not working still. Everything I've found points to the fact that our phone isn't reading the MDN properly. Without the MDN, our phone can't send the correct info to the MMS string (I really hate how they implimented it) and it therefor cause the file to return a destination error. This will most likely not be a fun or easy fix unless we try piggybacking on some other MMS uaProfUrl string for a different phone model (ie something that doesn't use uaprof.vtext.com)

Anyone tried using GoSMS to send mms? It may have changed, but it used to send mms via data/http, not mms, So it could be an option for people til it's sorted.

Unless something happened in the 08DEC12 build that im unaware one, I'm using the 07DEC12 cm-9-jartest-i_vzw.zip. GPS wasn't functioning yet. I can't remember what it said but it appeared to not be getting any satellite data.

I tried it and got no luck. Its not the app that's having mms issues is the phone
Damn. GoSMS used to used compression on images and send them via http, rather than mms, but if you can't send mms with it on this build, I'd say GoSMS changed how they send mms. Darn... I thought it could be a workaround.

i had a weird issue last which continued this morning which is my phone switched to roaming mode even though i didn't have roaming checked. I couldn't get it to leave roaming mode no matter what I tried. I finally ended up dirty flashing the rom and it fixed it. Then I put back in the inverted gmail and messaging app and changed my font in rom toolbox pro and reboot and i was back in roaming mode. This time I kept messing with it and finally got it to go back to normal.

I was wondering if any of the devs had some thoughts on this, or if anyone one else has experienced this.

As far as I can tell, Android sends MMS thru HTTP as well. Your model and carrier determine which MMS website it tries to send thru. The problem is that you still need your MDN number in order for it to go thru. Now, and as funny as this might be, one of those ID spoofing MMS programs might actually work as they fake the MDN number being sent out. I don't have the energy to actually try it out thou.

For those curious as to where different phones send their messages, just google "mms_config.xml" . This is the config file inside a MMS program and the string "uaProfUrl" is the actual website being used to send info.

A fix for mms I used to use was go sms pro and configure everything manually. Just search "lg spectrum mms fix nfuze" into Google and it's the nfuze wireless site. Follow all directions under the go sms heading and it always worked for me.. trying it now o cm 9
EDIT: well, receiving works now but I can't send...

I can't get my contacts synced over. Even with using rom toolbox. It does some but not much of them

Ok so go back to a Rom that can read your sim card and let it sync. Then you need sync all those with google contacts. Then you can have all of them in cm9.

If you don't feel comfortable giving Google your contacts then you can use a backup app like titanium backup to back them up then restore them.

Interesting. I assumed it used the same method as the sms transmission.

My beef with GoSMS is they send mms through servers in China, rather than you just sending through Verizon. Dunno if they still do, but it's probably a safe bet, which is why I thought it might have been a good workaround.

I have tried syncing with Google contacts. Exporting to SD card and back up with from toolbox pro. Not sure how to do it with titanium. It seems to sync my contacts from my email and not from my phone. Its mostly email addresses that gets synced

Receiving worked before though. For me at least.
