Root [ROM] Darkside Bound

Mine randomly rebooted regularly with stock but only rarely now with any custom. It seems only when I overrun my ram. And then infrequent.
 
Im having issues with long texts (that go to multimediamms) though it may have nothing to do with the rom, i mention it here because darkside is what im running.
Anyway verbose txts fail to go through at least half the time, if not more. They say 'sending' sometimes for hours.
I didnt have the problem when on stock, sometimes on stock+, and even more frequently now.
Metros mms has been buggy as long as ive known them though.

I'm Also running darkside and outside of the standard issue with mms sometimes coming out all scrambled I've had No issues. Pics sometimes say file deleted but it's only happened twice in 50 messages
 
OK... So.... I just flashed latest update over first update from that day without wiping squat with apparent success (we love you too BTW) and it's pretty sweet and all but what the heck did you do to the launcher? I can't get into the phone settings without flipping a bunch of flipin pages!

lol...thats how the emotion ui launcher works..
 
pretty much like stock huawei meets miui.
ive cooked an emotion ui rom a few weeks ago from vairous update.apps and from other stock huawei roms that used emotion, but alot of the system apps that made emotion ui what it is just werent playing nice. plus the ui was lame and the launcher sucked.
its basically a bloated rom.
 
I'd be for dumping the HW launcher as well as the 84MB weather app. Nova Prime for me all the way.Since it's paid I'll replace whatever is included in the ROM, so keep it small, please.

And my phone in no way resembles an Apple. Nova is very customizable, esp V.2.2. It runs how I want it to. And 84 MB for a weather app? Get real. First thing I deleted.
 
Awesome job, Dude! One thing of note, when I tried online nandroid backup, it said boot and recovery could not be found and skipped them. Not the case with Darkside. Of course when done thru recovery they were found and backed up. I trust the ones done in recovery more, anyway. I liken it to running Ghost in Windows vs. Ghost in DOS, I guess. Darkside also picked up the .android_secure, etc. The main reason I flashed was to get rid of Noozy and try AwesomeBeats (I'll report after using it)

Finally got some time at work to hook up to their sound system and Awesome beats is just that - AWESOME. Easier to configure than Ac!d and clearer lows with crisper highs. Same with my Dennon earbuds. Funny, those Dennons cost 3x more than this phone did, lol. About to flash the latest Dusk simply because I'm broke and have no life, unlike you guys who haven't been on the board all weekend. Keep it coming, KillCmd!

For the first time of any ROM, Nandroid Manager lists OUDhs Recovery.
Boot up speed is incredible, even on the first go.

Yeah, I just put holo launcher.

I wouldnt have an issue if I could figure a way to tick powersave in my status bar but I cant be squinting at a dark screen looking for the settings in the sun.
This way I just tap menu, system settings, and powersave is on the bottom right corner. I dont even have to look.
 
Speaking of power...

Has anyone elses battery pretty much refused to charge? Had mine on charger all night and actually lost 1% (it was at 10 when I plugged it in)

I rarely have a problem charging, even with using shitty spaghetti-thin USB cords. The USB cable that came with the phone worked fine until my daughter's rat cut the cord in one bite.... :mad:

I did however, find the one time I couldn't charge my phone was a Huawei plug-in adapter from my M835 that went bad
 
KILLCMD or anybody else: I've tried dozens of launchers with this phone LOL. If you don't like the app drawer thingy, use Nova Launcher and you can make your app drawer disappear. Nova works best with Premia anyway, and it's the only launcher I've found where you can crop a stationary portrait size wallpaper for your desktop without a separate app (I don't care for scrolling wallpaper). And I'm not even going to touch that... Atom...launcher thingy...??

And yeah, I've seen those stupid iPhone theme packs...Who the f^$* WOULD want to trash an android trying to make it look like a pukey bland-themed, disgusting iPhone launcher???? :D

That's just like... your opinion man. There's no master platform just devices that do the same things.

Hey, back off!!! He's created the fastest, smallest ROMs we've seem yet. Do you know how to use TiBu? Uninstall what you don't like. Install what you do. Free World, right?
And did you check out the OP? There's now Dusk (up to V.3 now), without the HW launcher, replaced by Apex. I also use Nova but have Apex installed also because of the Activities widget.

So to sum it up, we already commented nicely about the HW launcher and KillCmd followed through by creating Dusk without it. So your tantrum is not only rude and out of place but also totally unwarranted. And what has your positive contribution been to this Premia Forum?

WHOA....CHILL. I did NOT mock KillCMD's ROM, sir.... I haven't even downloaded it or installed it, leaving me absolutely no reason to mock it in the first place, not that I would have regardless. I have never directly picked apart anybody's work here in AF.

Positive contributions? Let's see.... In the Premia forum...See that OUDHS recovery you are using to flash your ROMs? After thanking shabbypenguin for his work on it, you can thank me for initially testing it, risking a brick for you guys, after 5 months of waiting for somebody to step up. Connect forums? M835 forums? I've spent hours helping people there. Oh, I almost forgot, I donate to devs, guides, dev device funds AND Phandroid as well. I think I've given plenty of positive contributions here and to other forums around AF, and I'm sure many others including a couple of people here can vouch for that...

After rereading my post, I think KillCMD may have taken my "dumpster" comment as his darkside ROM, when I meant it as my phone.... and I will edit that. I was simply mocking iPhones, NEVER anybody's work (Outside of Apple inc, anyway)

KILLCMD: I would like to personally apologize if my comment was misunderstood man, never was a direct insult towards you intended.

With Dusk+ you avoid the unwanted launcher and have Apex instead. You also get Awesome Beats sound mod pre-installed. No problems so far, smooth as silk. It can be found in the OP.
 
Well I finally moved up from stock76... I flashed DSB Dusk, and it works extremely well :D I'm streaming music while typing this, no distortion (yay!)

Aside from losing my highly cherished Miku boot animation (LOL I keep a spare), I can't seem to get Awesome beats to work. Is something I need to do to enable it? All tics within the menu are enabled and nothing happens... :(

It's really no big deal, but a working EQ/Booster would be nice since full volume on this phone for me is "comfortable".... I have just a slight hearing impairment :D

ROM is outfu*kingstanding, thanks KillCMD! :D:D
