I think one of the first things i did with tb was to restore MY version of tb I had backed up. maybe try that and see if it makes any difference.

Use TB to restore TB? Mind=blown. I'm afraid that will set up some kind of space-time paradox that will have me sitting in a DeLorean at the sock hop.:)

Appreciate the tip, if it freezes again I'm going to try it.

Hah! Nice. I'm just restoring apps from TB one at a time and it's working, just can't get the batch operation to go but oh well.
I like the RenderFX Widget, put the Night version on my screen as it seems like it will come in handy in the dark. Will probably dig into the rom some more while sitting at happy hour for which I am leaving soon.

So, I am this { } close to flashing this rom...
According to the changelog, TB is borked, so, I would assume I could, via the Aroma installer, choose not to have TB installed. I would then, after flashing/setting up etc, download TB from market like I would with another rom and use that TB version to install my backed up apps.
Correct?:p

you can just wipe the data from Tb and reload the app. Either/or.

O.k I decided to not have the TB from aroma installed...flashed rom ...set it up...downloaded TB and pro key from market.....opened TB and it tells my my Android id has changed (it tells me that is normal but some apps will not work unless I revert to my old Id which it apparantly has a record of. It gave me 3 options, Revert back to old Id...Keep new ID.....or ask me later..
I took a chance and clicked on revert back to old Id...it rebooted...
so far so good.
Did I do the correct thing? I dunno...it seems fine
 
That was a new option I read about in last update, haven't tried it yet. Was wondering what it was good for, wondered if it would do anything with that wallet problem that the new evo has.

I think you did right.

i have had Kindle app on a lot of roms once I had to go back and "manage them' because I had too many instances of it, exceeded the limit. wonder if i had of had the same 'id' if I would have avoided that. musta thought i was putting it on a bunch of different phone?
 
Yeah, that whole phone ID thing threw me for a little loop. Didn't have time to search for an answer ya know cuz it was there on the screen, so I went for it.
Figured if it got fudged, I'll reflash.
You are correct this rom is quick. Lots to set up and I'll have to finish that tomorrow.....
one quicky question before I go to bed, is there an option somewhere to have the battery indicator as a, %, instead of an icon?
 
yeah, but how did I get there.

menu/settings /advanced/Interface/status bar/ battery percentage

edit: well, still has a mini icon... I would like to have all of that go away and just have the Miui bar, but it comes up with both. too redundant for me...

I used it with no problem. It should cycle through airplane mode and do its thing. You can try a reboot, but I definitely didn't need to do one.

Rope - thanks for making other roms un-fun to flash. The only thing I can stomach other than reloaded is Mazda's CM9, which is outstanding. Just loaded it up with Mason RC4, which I should also has now there is a RC4 G series that will work with this ROM as well.
 
Well, last night after flashing this rom, re-installing all my apps (no problems), setting up all my homescreen widgets etc, I rebooted and, BAM!, no more home screen widgets and apps that I reinstalled were gone. WTF?
I did some research and there was a busybox version issue?
Any way, I updated busy box to 1.20 something and rebooted...got my apps back but still no homescreen widgets. All my settings for my widgets/apps are still in place but I still had to set up home screen icons/widget again (I use folder organizer)
Not really sure what went wrong, but so far its working.:confused::confused:
 
Has anyone notice a problem with the front facing cam?

I get green vertical bands cycling across the screen when I turn it on.

However strangely my spare evo a older hardware version 3 phone has no problem.


Also I seen that without screen on animation checked the screen does not wake this happens on both phones.

I have not noticed this but, try wiping cache and dalvik cache in recovery..:)

are you trying to use FFC w/ skype or Tango? if so, there is a skype fix in the OP...and if trying to use Tango..you need an old version of the app..if you need the old app, let me know. ill link from my DB for you. what governor are you using? I have notice the screen wake issues with wheatley and savaged zen...try smartass?
 
Get busybox 16.1....that's the one ropodope swears by. To get your apps back, go to terminal and run this

su
a2sd repair

let it run

a2sd reinstall

No not trying to use the cam for anything but the cam, I read about the fix for skype and tango but I dont use them thanks anyway. I was using wheatley so that could be it.

I have another question for some reason my phone is answering after one ring, I have it sitting on my desk not near anything else. I did the super wipe and reinstalled decks gb1.3 and still doing it.:confused:
Does anyone know of a app that may interfere?

Yeah, I've read he swears by bb 16.1. But the funny thing is, I installed bb v 1.20.1, and TB is running 1.18.4...and everything is working fine.
Just for a test, I downloaded Angry birds, about 16MB, and my sd-ext in TB dropped, so I would surmise dta2sd is functioning properly. Uninstalled and it went back up....
Maybe something later will fudge but that has yet to happen...
Think I should run with bb 1.20.1 or downgrade and take a chance on things fudging up?:confused:
