Root [ROM] DroidSmith_Force - Beta

New version is up. Sorry it tool so long. I got side tracked trying to build android from CAF, and not having much luck. Oh well I'll give it another few runs.

The link to the latest version is in the OP. The stock launcher has made a return. and the camera app has been replaced. Voice mail notifications are now working also. Please let me know if you have any issues, and I will try to address them.

I'm not a big fan of the gui of the camera, but performance of it is a big improvement! So far no freezes or extreme laginess, but if there is I'll report. BTW I like the new charging icon.

Well, so far performance is a lot better than the previous version of dsf I was running, however I just experienced one of those freezes that I have to pull my battery out for like on the previous ROM version. It happens at the most random times so I couldn't tell you what causes it but I'm keeping my eye on it and have changed my the governor and scheduler, I used to run msm-dcvs and deadline. Now I'm using ondemand2 and noop. I'll report back with any more feedback.

Yeah the camera isn't pretty, but I've been using it for months and haven't had any issues. Glad to here you like the charging icon. To be honest I wasn't sure if it would be well received

Sorry to here that. Ondemand2 has been working well for me. If the issue persists let me know.

I actually really like the new camera look. It's also very responsive, great work. I haven't had any problems yet. I am also running Ondemand2 and Noop.

My only complaint is it's not uniform with the rest of the theme. It's slightly bigger and a little brighter.

I think GUI/theming should be last on your priority list. Keep up the good work.

If you want you can always use uot kitchen to change the battery indicator. That's how I did it in this last build. Just be sure to upload both the systemui.apk and the framework-res.apk or it wont work. The site will provide you with a zip you can flash with cwm

i recently updated to your new piece of work and let me say i am loving it compared to the previous versions so far no issues but will most definatly give feedback if i come across any issues keep up the great work Jimsmith :)

I feel like something's been fixed that helps with performance, but I still can't use the matrix kernel :(

I'm going to end up updating matrix kernel. We are all playing with kernel version 3.4 right now, so it seems like a waste of time to update 3.0.8

Version 0.7 has been running smoothly for me. I haven't encountered any problems and I love that voice mail notifications are working again. Lastly, I also like the new battery icon.
Thank you for your great work jimsmith.

How'd you get Matrix Kernel to work? It always freezes my device on startup.

Fresh Install of dsf. 07(2 factory resets then wipe cache & dalvik caches before I flashed it. After installing Rom wiped both caches again. Then I flashed Matrix Kernel. After flashing kernel run a fix permissions. Wipe both caches again. Finally reboot system.
***For me the trick was not to reboot system between flashing rom and flashing kernel

I also use the unofficial CWM touch recovery posted in our ATR guide. I have encountered weird problems flashing both the stock and Matrix kernels using the non touch CWM recovery with the Force.
Strange???????
