Root [ROM] Froyocream Sandwich v2.0 released: 3/29

we thought you guys were getting bored with the same old stuff lying around here... :p when b_randon14 finishes bRom (which BTW i do know it will knock your socks off) we will have some competition in the stock rom category lol :D

EDIT: guys dont worry about derailing our thread... just try to stay on topic as much as possible :D

Psssshhhh staying on topic is for wimps :p... lol I try to stay on topic, but sometimes its to hard...

I may have to try bRom when its done then, even though I personally don't like stock...

Its a good time to have a triumph. I can't wait to see whats in store for brom or this UNKNOWN project. Matter of fact zig I have you and mobsterguns to thank for my work productivity going down :p I check this forum all the time.

Psssshhh wiping caches is for wimps :p. Plus I've never had any trouble when I just do a factory reset and flash to a different rom.

Just because YOU have not had trouble, doesn't mean others don't. I can't tell you how many times app data or caches are what caused what people thought were "bugs". It takes 10sec to know it won't be an issue, why not do it?

So he is still working on his rom? I thought maybe he gave up lol since its been awhile since an update rolled out.

Yea I know... I just sometimes get impatient and just want to try the rom :D... its bad habit...

Hmm... I usually don't even wipe my cache and dalvik cache when flashing between roms >.> <.< so I don't think that is much of a problem, but I would do a factory reset, then format /system/ under mounts, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, then flash the rom, then reboot... But like I said I usually just do a factory reset then flash a different rom without wiping caches... :D

Thanks I'll try that tomorrow. I usually never wipe caches either.

Actually as an fyi in case anyone doesn't know, if you do a Factory Reset in CWM, it formats the following:

/data
/cache
/sd-ext
/sdcard/.android_secure (which my phone never has)

Dalvik cache is a subdirectory of /data, /cache, and /sd-ext.

Therefore, if you do a factory reset, you have already wiped cache and dalvik cache.

EDIT: The above info is from the cwm code if anyone feels the need to verify it.

I always thought you shouldn't do a factory data reset. Because it can screw up CWM. That's what it did on my Optimus V. I had to install a different recovery.

You don't do a factory data reset in the ROM. You do it in CWM.

Edit: To clarify, boot into ClockworkMod Recovery and choose the option "Wipe data/factory reset".

Thanks for clarifying. I thought you were talking about doing it in the rom.

I always had a question about that... if factory resetting in a booted rom will mess up something, why don't they remove that function from the settings.apk? Lol

Is there difference between froyocream. And red remix other then theme.
Performance wise?

I think it's because Android's factory reset also reloads the stock recovery image, which on other phones can cause weird behavior (like Optimus V), but MT it's just a hassle. I'll prob remove that setting in my next CM7 ROM.

I used this ROM for a few days it was a lot better than stock just not as fast as CM7 I think because of Android 2.3 improvements.

Since this ROM allows the phone to deep sleep with wifi enabled, what is the average idle/screen off battery drain you guys are getting with the wifi sleep policy set to "never"?

Just curious :)

I finally got this rom to install. But I have a problem, I can't setup a Google account. In the settings there is no Google account option. There's a Facebook and corporate. Please help.

You have to flash the rom then right after you flash it before you boot flash Gapps.

Edit: NVM you shouldn't have to flash gapps... That is weird that it doesn't give you an option to log into your google account... Maybe someone else can figure it out...
