Root [ROM] Froyocream Sandwich v2.0 released: 3/29

just tryed out the rom and the "red" variant but I have a question... all my apps are still on my sd card(or are they)
so is there a way to restore them to the phone without re-downloading them?would downloading the launcher on my other rom and doing a backup do the trick?
pardon the NooB question but i get hung up on the small Deets sometimes:p

If you selected move apps to sd all that does is move parts of the apps to the SD card not the whole app so you will have to re-download your apps. Unless you made a nandroid backup before in which you could just use AppExtractor to restore your apps and data.
 
hey guys love the rom as i have stated else where, only bug i have found so far is the key board when you double tap the key to bring up all capital it force closes, everything else is beautiful! and very fast i might add.
 
Here are a few things that I noticed while using the ROM. It would be great if you could fix some.

1) Black text on black background in a lot of the apps settings and browser settings.
2) DSP Manager doesn't do anything at all.
3) Like others have mentioned the ICS Keyboard seems to FC a lot.
4) Also, like stated before the thunder prop does not work.

There were a few more but those are really the major ones. Can't wait for the next release and thanks for all the work you guys put into this.

1. i havent noticed any black text on black backgrounds, but i do suggest just using opera mobile browers with opera turbo off when on wifi
2. i agree just remove it from the .zip
3. i just uninstalled it then reinstalled it from the market havent had it crash yet.
4. wish this was fixed missed all the .99 gameloft games
 
I have noticed some not saying ThunderProp mod is not working on this ROM as well as the Red Remix.

Isn't it just possible to change lines in the build.prop yourself?

ro.product.model=ADR6400L

Isn't that all the ThunderMod does? Or am I missing something? Just asking because I want to try some new stock based ROMS such as this over the weekend and I'm trying to figure out if the ThunderProp actually works. Has anyone tried just manually editing the lines yourself?

Hmm... I usually don't even wipe my cache and dalvik cache when flashing between roms >.> <.< so I don't think that is much of a problem, but I would do a factory reset, then format /system/ under mounts, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, then flash the rom, then reboot... But like I said I usually just do a factory reset then flash a different rom without wiping caches... :D
 
hey guys! :D i would just like to say that we are planning on updating this rom after we get our next rom out... (yea thats right! a THIRD! :D ) :cool: shouldnt be too long, but we are re working everything from scratch and are gonna try to make everything the way it should have been on day one.
 
Okay... I just flashed, booted up, restored my apps with Titanium and I am typing this from my phone running the ROM..

and I gotta say.. THANK YOU! I feel stupid for not flashing this sooner! I noticed right off the bat using Titanium Backup how much faster it seemed. Now, I want everyone to know I am in no way knocking other ROMS like CM7 (I have used CM7 for months now and have enjoyed every minute of it. That was an amazing achievement and I'm thankful for it).. I am only stating how impressed I am in how much better you guys have improved the stock experience. It's beautiful too! :)

The ONLY thing I am missing is the pull down notification power toggles and the screenshot with power button.. which isn't a big deal considering I can deep sleep with wifi on again AND have a beautiful looking ROM.

after flashing the fryocream ROM the android online market had my phone listed as a thunderbolt (a virgin mobile thunderbolt at that) but after about 24 hours back on CM7 its back to listing it as a Motorola Triumph...any one else seen this? is it because of thunder-prop?

its because of the thunder prop... and the reason why the thunder prop doesnt work is because of the kernel. it was acting weird for brandon14 too :D

Psssshhh wiping caches is for wimps :p. Plus I've never had any trouble when I just do a factory reset and flash to a different rom.

And too not totaly get off topicc... ziggy you guys are too busy making too many roms for people :D. Soon there will be too many choices :/. I wish that boot manager would work on the MT soon...

we thought you guys were getting bored with the same old stuff lying around here... :p when b_randon14 finishes bRom (which BTW i do know it will knock your socks off) we will have some competition in the stock rom category lol :D

EDIT: guys dont worry about derailing our thread... just try to stay on topic as much as possible :D
