Root [ROM] GB-CMod7-Beta

I just wanted to clarify my earlier post.

I have completed reppard's GPS workaround. My hardware GPS works correctly, and locates fine.

What is not working is the assisted-GPS (aGPS) system. This is the system that triangulates your position by analyzing received data from the surrounding cellular transmitter towers. It doesn't use GPS satellites like standard GPS does.

I believe this is not working for three reasons;
1. The icon is missing from the status bar.
2. My Weather widget will not locate itself without turning on standard GPS, even though aGPS is enabled in the system settings.
3. The Google homepage states it cannot locate itself, where it shows me nearby places in 2.2.1.

edit: and, yes, I did turn the browser's location setting back on. :)

guess what guys i installed (multi mount sd-card) and now mass storage works on my phone
make sure to leave multi mount on the phone and not on the sd.

ummm multi mount doesn't show a screen like that, i should know cause i use it on 2.2.1 since i need my phone to still be able to access my microSD when in USB, that and why does the screenshot show HSPA for data instead of metro's limited 1x? o.0

not doubting that multi mount would work, because it mounts the SD card as a "2nd drive" so to speak.

the pic above is just to show people which multi mount im talking about ill take a screen shot from my phone since you don't believe me. lol theres the proof. theres the 1x and two screen shots for proof. ha ha

lol well like i said i wasn't doubting the reliability, mostly because i use it already, i was just wondering what one you were using because I've relied on the widget and haven't ever seen that screen. that and was wondering why it showed HSPA if you like had already tooken your hand at modding the framework or something lol.

I BELIEVE I FOUND ANOTHER BUG!Im having a problem trying to charge my phone while its off..if i turn off my phone and then plug it in to the charger to charge while off,it forces it to boot up..i tried to use the battery calibrator and it recommends that you charge fully while off..but as soon as i plug in the phone,it boots up..is anyone else having the same problem?!

I have had that happen to me. Like I will take the battery out then it will automatically start up sometimes. Just be patient with it. No big deal eh mate?

You are correct the problem does appear to be an issue with agps. The hardware obviously works to some extent. If you look in the lib and bin folders of this rom you will see some important differences. The stock has libgps.so which the gingerbread lacks. It also has a bin called loc_API_app. The gingerbread rom has two libs in the lib/hw folder called GPS.thunderc.so and GPS.goldfish.so. now how to fix the issue :)

anybody know where the tutorial for flashing custom rom on Optimus m? what programs do I need to do it,etc...... also how do I get into recovery on this phone? tried volume button, home, power and a bunch of combos consisting of some and all of those. My phone is already rooted also if that makes a difference

I seem to be encountering a bug, or I hope it's a bug, that my SD Card is damaged while using this rom. Never happened with RomZero or the Sense rom and plugging the card in my PC and running error checking on it shows no errors.

Probably another issue with the first release if the phone. It is possible that my fix for mass storage mode will solve your issue. Ill update the zip as soon as I can.

So I found a few bugs that i dont think were mentioned yet.im not 100 percent sure if they have but just a little insight.

Landscape mode is verry buggy (has a hard time switching from back and forth)

SHOOT ME screen shot app's SHAKE MODE does NOT work.ONLY the "YELL" feature.

Doppler Radar does not work..dont know if thats due to gps problems or what not because MAPS works.

while phone is plugged into an audio source such as car stereo or headphones, the phone will NOT pick up audio from the phones microphone.

i love this rom and will never switch back.lol just wanna give some details on the bugs i found.will post more if i remember any i forgot or find any new ones.THANKS REPPARD!

Yes i have the landscaping bug too kinda annoying having to pound my phone to get the landscaping right.I also experience low signal bar? :D but still love the ROM

reppard I just have to say thank you for all the time and effort you have put into this, I ran the port but I have not run your beta version as of yet, I think I am going to wait till you put out the update. I have not had the time to do the configure changes involved with testing things out.
