Root [ROM] GB Miui For DX!! (1.9.16.1)

I'm loving Miui since it dropped yesterday... well the mostly fixed version dropped... now that DXC and Framework have fixed the Airplane and Battery bugs its great... mine runs like a top and I have no problems what-so-ever. Me and VS have been trolling Framework's thread over at RootzWiki for all the latest info.

My wife asked me what was so special about Miui... told her it had the look/feel of her iPhone4 but the power/customizability (if thats a word) of Android... so its the bastard child of iOS and Android... lol

Very no. You have to update to Gingerbread first.

Are we talking about just the kernels? I was on MIUI 1.7.22 and flashed this overtop it. Now the phone won't boot past the M logo.

Do I need to SBF now? And if so, do I SBF to Froyo or the newest Gingerbread?

You can't flash a GB kernel based Rom over Froyo, you have to already be on the GB Kernel to flash this or you will end up sbfing as you will have to do now ;)

I say go straight to .602 and one-click root it.

I guess my phone is hosed. It started out really good today, but now it runs like shit. Slowdowns, lockups, lag etc.

Im going back to Liberty tomorrow and staying there. For some reason, its the only rom that my phone seems to like and that I have zero problems with.

Im staying there until the Prime drops.

I really liked MIUI before and would like to go back to it. I had two issues before that were deal breakers and eventually forced me back to Apex...

1. The camera was terribly slow and unresponsive. I never minded the fact that it wouldn't shoot in widescreen, but forget about the quick photo op as it was just not going to happen.

2. GVoice would never work. I could not get it to make calls, regardless of how I set it.

Anyone know if these items were fixed?

1. Try a 3rd party camera. There's a few decent ones to check out.

2. GVoice worked fine for me previously on MIUI, for both texting and making calls.

I have gotten a boot loop issue hours after I I have flashed the rom when I am setting everything back up. It has happend to me in the past and I am not sure what causes it. I am trying to restore back to a backup but not sure if I can due to my backup is not the gb kernel but the froyo kernel. I am almost out of battery now and may have to take it down to VZ to get it charged before i figure this out.

Well, miss one day in the forums (had to keep a sick child home from school yesterday) and look what happens :D

I really loved this rom on Froyo, but the battery life was horrible. I ran 1.7.22 to avoid the airplane bug.

So, now to my questions. This new version is the true blue Gingerbread version?

Is the horrible battery life fixed?

And is airplane mode bug fixed?

I just got Sensei v3 and Shuji 2.2 installed and really like these two roms. Been switching back and forth on them. If I install this new Miui and want to go back to Sensei or Shuji, then I cannot just nandroid back over to them, I will have to sbf?

Just goes to show you that nothing good comes from having kids. :D

I think I'd sit this one out. I had a full charge before going to bed and after 8 hours of doing nothing (don't even have my email accounts added yet), I'm at 80%. If I check battery stats, I have about 15 items all using 0% and the battery stats show no battery used. I have the extended battery.

Now I'm off to find a camera I can use.

Yeah battery life is pretty bad on this rom have to say. I dunno colchiro, I think my days of roming in the X are over with. I may be joining you and Steven with .602

Cannot wait for the Prime!!!

If I flash this ROM, can I then restore data from a nandroid back up to get apps/contacts/data back? Or is that not something that works across ROMs? Can't seem to get a clear answer anywhere.

Restoring apps/app-data backed up with Titanium would be safe.

Anything else would be risky and I usually create a nandroid before attempting anything else.

Themes for the stock messaging app don't display right. The contact screen shows the picture but the conversation screen is just blank on all the themes I have tried.

the avatar should be at the top of it... basically it should only show the messages, not the avatar and messages on every text. the avatar for mine is at the very top

i dont make calls with google voice, i have my visual voicemail with it though, and its working perfect for me.

steven has it not worked for you?

I'm on apex with revolution, at the moment.:p

trooper nothing is good enough for you :p

your not going to get stellar battery life out of these things, it should at least last you half the day, mine goes on all day, until 9pm and then its at 20% and here lately i have been using alot more data than usual

I use gvoice 2.3.4 so I get free outgoing calls. I installed it in system/app yesterday, but it didn't work, for some reason. I'm going to revisit the issue today.
