Root [ROM] ICS Elite Aeneas Build

lol the chinchilla is a BEAST!! Going to have to assemble a search party headed Les Stroud ala Survivor man to find JM lol. and thank you dark.

Actually, I believe even this uses mine as a base as well.

It doesn't look like it, but that's the whole trick to it. People underestimate what can be done to a stock rom these days.

I'm aware that it has Aeneas as a base. I was just saying that I will not be releasing whatever theme I would make from it as another Aeneas based ROM. I would likely decompile, change a few things and it would just be for temporary personal use.

Been busy workin' on AOSP GB and soon GP's CM9.

cm9/10 are beasts. wait you'll see. I'm using a mix of 9,10 and aokp. alternating when I want a change up. but sense from HTC isn't shabby either mind you. it has a lot going for it.

So can anyone tell me why it boot loops for me unless I do a complete wipe? I really need a way to keep all my stuff without having to format /data.

You could be retaining something that conflicts.

When Android first boots (this is very simplified, but gets the point across), it copies everything to Dalvik cache, and then runs from there, this is why the first boot on a new rom takes so long (and why Android is so durable). When it copies over to Dalvik, if there are files there it will do a comparison between the new file, cache and dalvik cache and then will pick whichever matches the other files best. This is part of the virus protection. This is why whenever there is an issue, we always tell people to start fresh, and wipe everything. This forces the phone to use the files you want. The more modified a file, the more likely it is to revert.

Odds are, your system prefers an older file it is retaining somewhere, and that file is crashing things.

Thanks Leslie, I'm gonna start looking at Logs to find the problem. Besides that; Is there ANY fix for Quickmemo and possibly removing the boot sound?

To silence the boot sound, rename "/system/sounds/poweron/PowerOn.mp3" to "/system/sounds/poweron/PowerOn.mp3.sucks".

As far as I know Quickmemo works just fine.

Hold the volume rocker so both up and down are pressed at the same time, and it should show up.

I have no idea why there is no icon for it, but it is there and every time I tested it was working in all of my roms.

It just shows the "Screen cannot br captured" or e/e it says. Works after letting keeping the phone on for a while. No issues anymore. Atleast not yet. xD Lol, thanks Curtis this is a great rom! And thanks Hashtag foe thr the build.prop which I already edited to say ICS Elite on the Build info on the About screen in settings. It said Tagged 1.02 before. And thanks for the tip Giantpune, jesus I feel like a hoe. Saying Thanks too many times in one post haha.

Quick memo works on my Harmonia install it just didn't on curts ROM when i tried it for those screen shots. The version from a few days ago

yeah quick memo has issues from Aeneas build I think. I haven't edited it at all. I did leave it in this new build just in case. can remove if need be.

I just did a test, Aeneas 1.02 and Harmonia 2.03 Quickmemo files are identical based on MD5. Maybe you used an older one or maybe it has to be located in System/app.

i havent relocated it from original folder in aeneas. havent edited it. but i did see where some users are stating that after some time,it actually starts working. so who knows. i left it in just in case the latter is the case.

I found a thread basically stating that it will fail to boot right after reboot if you install wayyy too many apps. So I'm just gonna try installing a few at a time. Found an older version online of a Titanium Backup posted by the developer to get the donate bersion for emergencies. Saves a lot of trouble for installing things automatically. Wayyyy too long to install 89 apps individually via TB. Thank you all for the help tho. Quickmemo works fine after the phones been on for an hour or two so no need. What did you put in the new version Curtis??

I put in pixel rain live wallpaper, moved to holo launcher, actually did remove quick memo(thought i had left it in but was looking at another thing im working on and confused the two)trimmed size of rom down more, faster boot animation and nullified boot sound.

wasnt sure you caught it,but yeah you can use whatever you want from this. so can anyone else. its all good.

yep as hatred stated.. sorry for slow reply, been busy putting this ROM on the PCD venture for virgin mobile. tough little phone, very different than the elite theming wise. has elements I've not seen on any VM phone. but its pretty much finshed. should be back around now.
