Root [ROM] ICS Elite Aeneas Build

Power menu mod - Reboot, Recovery and Screenshot

framework-res.apk - It looks a little more like what I would consider vanilla/holo ICS. There are some more things I might change around, but not very soon.

Settings.apk - slightly modified menu listings (wifi settings, bluetooth and battery use listed in the main menu) and added headings to group the listings.

Where can I download this rom?
 
I've got some weirdness going in with this one (probably my fault). When I connect the usb cable, the notification says "USB connected With one more failed security code, all the data will..." (it gets cut off, but I think its supposed to say deleted. When I turn on the mas storage, the notification changes to "USB Connected You can only perform this action in the USA".

Any ideas about that one?

Yeah, I get those messages too. I've had them ever since I installed Leslie's ROMs. It hasn't resulted in any damage to my phone or the files on it. I have no idea why that shows up.
 
Could you pull the screen animations from tagged and use them on this ROM? And does anyone know about any further development on the cm build for this phone? I'm currently running the ics elite rom and I love it but I'm in love with cm LOL

Whatchu talkin' 'bout Willis? Screen animations?

CM7 is being worked on.. AFAIK, it still needs Data, Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS. You're welcome to help make that happen. The source is up on Google Project Hosting.

CM9 is on the back burner. The source is also up on Google Project Hosting.

If you remember, earlier RCs of Harmonia had this issue too. I have no idea how she fixed it, but she did. You'll probably want to ask Leslie about how to fix this.
 
I was stomping on so many bugs I couldn't tell you what the exact fix was.

The only thing I can figure is that either a file is missing, or this is based this off an older version of Aeneas before the latest bugs were worked out. I believe it was something was missed, older version, or a security permission that ended up fixing it.
 
this is based off first release of aeneas. ill download the newest release and update for changes. i do know that none of the aeneas users for the venture are experiencing this issue so it must be this.

Hey Curtis,

It might be a relatively easy fix. I compared MD5s of all the files from the first Aeneas release to the most recent and I still couldn't figure out which exact files were the cause of the strange USB Connected hint messages. I can confirm that none of the files I sent you to add are the cause. I installed the latest Aeneas (1.02), added my files (framework-res.apk, android.policy.jar, framework.jar, Settings.apk, screenshot, CMScreenshot, libscreencapture.so) and those strange messages do not appear.

I added in Launcher2.apk which I thought Leslie originally included in Aeneas (I could be wrong), but has since replaced with the stock Launcher. Everything was fine.

So, then I added in your SystemUI.apk and that's when the strange hint messages start showing up under USB connected. Replacing it with the latest Aeneas SystemUI.apk got rid of the messages.

So, here is a recompiled SystemUI.apk using the latest Aeneas SystemUI.apk. It's mostly built from scratch (without UOT), but I believe I've preserved most of Curtis' mods. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Aeneas is completely stock (including launcher), the only difference from stock is the memory tweaks, busybox and Init.d support.
 
So do we have ICS rom updated with the newer Aeneas yet? Lol. I can't tell by how things are being talked about.
 
im here,just took a few days off. wasnt feeling well. been under the weather. will try and get this all resolved this evening after i finish work. sorry for the delay.


edit: with the issues I'm having with my neck (DDD cervical),I don't think I'm the right person to keep this going. If anyone is up for taking it over. I have no objections.
 
If you manage to put in the updated Aeneas let us know. Doesn't sound like you'll really be able too. Hopefully someone else can help. Maybe Leslie?
 
I don't want to leave this hanging in limbo. I'll do something on it. I'll need time. It'll depend on how I'm feeling. It's difficult to sit at PC as of late for me. My uppermost vertebrae in neck gets out of whack and locks up on me. And other things set it off also. So give me some time and I'll make this right. I would hate to leave it undone and on someone else's shoulders.
