Root [ROM] IncDoes Sense

I can't wait until the cam bug is resolved on this one! It's been a few weeks since a ROM got me excited.... :rolleyes:

yeah apprently the z port is ALOT faster and smoother and than the desire at least on HD2. on the xda forums people were saying that they were getting 1300s-1400s on the desire port and it was laggy at times, and on the z quadrants were in the 1900s.

and yes i know quadrant isnt the end all/be all when it comes to judging how good the port is

Let me try and translate

The HTC Desire Z port is a lot faster and smoother than the Desire HD port at least on the HD2. Over on the xda forums people were only getting scores of 1300-1400 on the Desire HD port and was laggy sometimes, while the Desire Z port was scoring in the 1900's

and yes according to his twitter account IncredibleDoes is dropping the DesireHD port and will be working on a DesireZ port instead.

If he can get the camera to work on the DesireZ port I'll switch to it - I liked the DesireHD port except for the whole camera thingy
 
New HD dump apparently is faster than the Desire Z dump according to IncredibleDoes - maybe he'll stick with this one a bit more

and yes - if the camera ever starts working - this will be my daily ROM
 
I just want a fully functional Sense ROM to screw around with. This one has it's share of bugs so I can't decide if I like new Sense or not. Some of the features are very cool, but are the bugs related to Sense or just the port? Who knows. I do want this ROM or something like it to work though.
 
HTCSense is live now. I may screw with this ROM tonight just to see what I can do now that the online features are live. I found a Desire Z ROM floating around too. We may try it tonight and see how buggy it is. I am too nerdy for my own good.
 
Looks like IncDoes is apparently working on a new release of this ROM and is working out a few bugs before he does. I can't wait.
 
I screwed around with the .6 ROM that has access to HTCSense. The ROM still had all kinds of FC's which is to be expected, but I really liked what you could do with the portal.
 
so i was just wondering, (and im not trying to be a dick or anything) but why is it that the first thing that breaks on most new OS builds is the camera??? When i had a storm and people were leaking new OS the Camera would never work in the early stages of the build but later will be fixed.

Not sure exactly why, but I think the camera functionality is usually related to the kernel and/or the radio. Sometimes with new builds are leaked the kernel is a standard kernel that hasn't been tweaked and/or newer firmware for the camera isn't out.

see that is weird that the camera even touches the kernel or the radio.... (not saying you are wrong)

All I know is this. If you flash a Froyo ROM with an Eclair radio, the camera doesn't work. If you then upgrade to a Froyo radio, the camera works. Why it's related I have no idea, but it definitely is.

Anyway, I saw he posted on his twitter about midnight that he's posting a new version of this ROM tomorrow. Since he posted around midnight I don't know what tomorrow means. Does tomorrow mean today (Friday) or does it mean tomorrow (Saturday)? The wait is killing me. The new version supposedly has a working camera.
 
ID's twitter account is a bit vague on what he's going to be releasing - could be a new version of the HD port or it could be the Desire Z port he's been working on

either way - I've yet to see anything that mentions fixing the camera...
 
From reading the post on XDA it seems that he is working with the Z-port now. I just hope the issues get resolved.

He posted before/after shots on twitpic which I assumed was him working on the camera.
 
Update from ID's twitter account: Lets clear some questions: CAM is not fixed, those images where already taken (gallery has an EFFECTS option) many effects can be added!

Cam or no cam, when he releases the ROM, I'm flashing it.
 
.8 is ****ing out right now!!!! Downloading it now.

Edit: Flashed the ROM. Camera still doesn't work. Wifi apparently doesn't work. Can't obtain an address.

Edit again: Can't recommend this ROM. No FC's or anything like that, but wifi doesn't work and SU doesn't work. If you have this ROM you effectively do not have root and apps that require root do not work. I've gone back to something else.
