Root [ROM] JTG's ICS - Jan 30 - Beta 3.5

I would assume so. The earlier one may have been an Alpha and this one is a Beta already. I think he is the only one saying he's up to a Beta version.

I'm DL'ing it now. Hopefully get to flash it this week.:)
 
Hmmmm, beta now huh. :)
Might have to give this a whirl. Haven't really messed with any ICS roms, too buggy. I gots to have stability. :D
 
Can anyone confirm if Netflix works on this? I don't use it often, bet every once in a while when we're out to eat it comes in handy for a restless 2 year old.
 
I am dieing to run this rom but i am not a expert user so it have to be stable for me, but i see it is beta so it should be more stable than the alpha series. anyone running the new beta how it it doing?

just go for it. make a nandroid backup (they are your friend) and wipe (everything except sd card) and flash the rom. if it turns out to be too buggy or something does not work for you then you can just nandroid back to the previous rom you were on. try it out and let us know what you think of it.

Boot animation is impressive

Ok ICS is up and running, camera works, slightly sluggish...., need setcpu
 
Can you put a link to the thread on Xda/the devs forum in the OP? Its so much easier to keep up with things that way.
 
Ok It's up and running, but I don't know how well I like ICS... It feels like an alien life form and reminds me of BB too much.

Anyway, I'm gonna spend the next couple hours setting it up, so if anyone has any request to see what works, let me know.

Weather doesn't want to update....
 
I'm always curious as to how snappy and responsive it seems compared to gingerbread aosp stuff. The smoothness of gingerbread always brings me back from ICS. I also really wish we had a true ICS kernel
 
Are you suggesting I don't flash a kernel and just use what was baked in?

It's not near as snappy as Mik3.0 or CM7, or anything else that I've flashed.

SetCpu won't set higher than 1gHz...

Controlling the apps and widgets is clumsy, and 4G is not in the settings...
 
The only kernel that works with ICS is the one that is baked into the rom. It's a modified version of Tiamat 4.1 (without SBC). I'm not a real big fan of the default ICS Launcher. I thought that NovaLauncher was pretty good. But yeah, the rom is not near as fast and responsive as more mature roms out there. But that's why it's an alpha/beta depending on the dev. And 4G is not working yet on ICS. Who knows if we'll ever see it. It only exists on Gingerbread AOSP because TeamWin figured it out.
 
Just flash ICS like it look and feel Camera works e-mail good but slow my signal strength seems to be low make and received calls, cannot get google contact back yet....while i like the looks, dont think i will be on it for long time diff. will go back top Mik3.0. just going to try it for the rest of day.....still looking around!!!!!!
 
Hmm so this is his beta. I must admit I'm a lil wary. I ran his alpha a while back. it was pretty stable so i'm interested to see how this will preform. I'm going to flash it now.
 
Just got done flashing it. So far so good. Below I will list the things i have noticed so far

Screen animations appear to be slightly slugish
Took a second or 2 to go from portrait to landscape(could do with screen animations)
Camera works!(pretty good pics I might add, will upload some in a few)
Pretty fast considering it's a beta. almost as smooth as GB AOSP
It looks like the wallpapers are still slighty off to the right


I will report more soon

*EDIT*
Right LED is used for notofications
after 30mins of heavy use(emails, flash content, messages) I'm glad to report no FC'S or random reboots!

I am force to give up on this ICS rom very sluggish and laggy, tried live wallpaper multi desktop, reboot twice to evo 4g screen and many time it reboot but only to the ICS logo :( Nav do not work i get TT...error Going back to MikG 3.0

Damn your getting all of that? GPS works for me. I haven't tried Live wallpapers but everything else has worked fine. I havent even had 1 FC or rebot since flashing this rom. I've been using my phone heavy too.
