Root [ROM][July14] Icy Fusion V5.0 | Smooth | Tweaked | Themed | Battery

Darn now I'm having issues I put the working BT files but now I get stuck at boot logo hmmmm I have to ask tdm about this

Hey guys my new ROM will be based on cm10 now because aokp is laggy and I did speed it up pretty good but it killed the battery fast when adding in all of the performance tweaks, so I'm using cm10 now cause its so much smoother, and about this ROM I'm still trying to fix the Bluetooth I'll do some testing tonight and see what I can do

Yea man, as much as I like aokp it's so laggy. I'm sticking with cm10 because it's nice seeing smooth animations

Maybe I can integrate or merge aokp control into cm I'll ask some dev at xda, I've seen lots of devs merge aokp and cm and pa like the PAC Man ROMs, well see

it seems to me that all aokp is is cm with the extra features. Not sure why it's not as smooth but maybe it's just on our phone, or maybe it's something pertaining to aokp control. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do azoller.

I really don't know what is possible, but since no one had responded I am trying to help you find out with the mighty powers of google lol.

To start, the admins where say no? I looked on flashitnow.com and the verizon lg spectrum is a supported device...

Thanks! The admins of flashitnow said that. I think I'll simply try and see if it works. I know the call and text will but want at least 1X else it could be almost pointless :/

A better question would be this: Is there a way to turn off 4G but not 3G? I know there are some apps in the market but none for spectrum.

Yes - dial *#*#4636#*#* then select phone information.
You will get this screen -

Click on the pop down menu and select CDMA Auto (PRL).

That will drop it to 3g.

To turn off 4G type *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer, go to phone information and use the drop down menu to select CDMA only.

Hey,

First time posting. I've flashed several ROMs in the past and been fine. However when I flashed your ICY-FUSION-R2.0-FINAL.zip (the link from first post) I had problems. (this was the only ROM I could find, your sourceforge page had nothing on it at all).

I followed the directions correctly (not my first time doing this). The install looked good, however when the phone booted it jumped into a "Windows Phone" splash screen, which I thought was odd... Then it came on and had 4 different home screen apps, at least one of which was all in Chinese.

At this point I was going to go roll back to my previous version (which I had backed up with nandroid). However I was silly and had moved the backup off my phone onto my PC.

No big deal, just open SD card in mass storage mode and copy the recovery file over, right?

Nope, with your ROM my computer no longer recognized the phone so I can't connect to it. I restarted my PC, uninstalled and reinstalled the LG USB Drivers, restarted PC, and still doesn't work. The device appears in device manager with the warning symbol saying it can't find the drivers. (NOTE: I never had this issue with stock rom or others).

So, since my cat recently destroyed my microSD adapter I'll be running to MicroCenter in a minute to get a new one so I can manually copy my recovery image onto it and then re-flash that.

Not hating on you or your ROM (I think something went wrong or somehow the link is bad and I got a bad file) because my experience differs greatly from what I see other users commenting in this thread. But if something is amiss I thought you should know.

Alex, did you download the link from the op or somewhere else? It sounds like you downloaded the wp7 rom not the icy fusion.

yeah i just remembered i put the windows phone bootanimation in my icy fusion and i have no idea why i did, but for the usb thingy try plugging in your usb cable, leave it in, then reboot your phone, and then go to usb connection settings then click usb mass storage and that should work, and if it doesnt then try rebooting your phone again, and if that doesnt work wipe everything then reflash the rom, if you keep having issues just pm me or reply here

Yes just click on any of the options once you flash other than the last one, which will be the windows launcher. The steps azoller1 mentioned will get usb mass storage working properly :)

@alexjbuck: I don't think this has been said yet, but that's a known issue with the Spectrum (at least with ICS) and is not the fault of the ROM. I've had that same issue since I got the stock OTA ICS update... Every time.

i've said it twice, and i'll say it again...USE AIRDROID!

I havent needed to hook my phone to my pc in 2 weeks since I started uisng airdroid.

I'm going to check that app out. Thanks.

Though airdroid has worked flawless for me. And I love how it lets you message, and tells you your battery level

Airdroid is probably better cause its free and free version of WiFi explorer only allows 100mb and lower for transfers but its really fast

I use Samba Fileshare, though it does act a bit wonky on this ROM. Just slow to start up, that's all. I can live with it.

I do find that transferring files over wifi is much slower than over USB.

Any recommendations on a good wifi "file syncing" app? I was using Syncness, but it hasn't been updated in over a year and doesn't work in ICS.

it's slower if you have a class ten sd card. but airdroid is decent at moving files. it normally goes about 4MB/s for me
