Root [ROM][July14] Icy Fusion V5.0 | Smooth | Tweaked | Themed | Battery

Alright so in 3.2 the exchange email is not working with stock app. I know that the standard ROM needs both the email.apk and exchange.apk to have it work. Exchange currently doesn't show up under email options to add as an account. Also, the black theming prevents me from seeing any text in popup prompts such as which scheduler and I/O to use in ROM Toolbox. Try adding an attachment in the stock messaging app and you get a blank list with icons as well.
I did try doing a fresh install of 3.2 and got hung at boot again. Could it be because the kernel is being flashed after the ROM is installed? What if you switch the order of both could that help?

The kernel can't necessarily be flashed before the rom. There is a specific order that the script goes through. Azoller1 and I have been through the script multiple times and that's not the issue.

I guess if I would have dug a little I would have known that :( I saw that the same thing happens in 2.7 which does boot from a clean install for me.

The only thing that I know that changed majorly after 2.7 was the lockscreen that changed. Azoller provided an update script after that to get rid of the red lockscreen.

So I followed all of the instructions 100% but now there doesnt seem to be any progress and Im just getting a black screen. Can get back into recovery but dont know where to go from here. Flash stock and try again? I would greatly appreciate anyones advice. Many thanks.

I flashed V3.2 02152013 now I dont know what to do next because i didnt have a previous version on the SD card. How do I flash to stock if I cant get into download mode?

Hey, I dirty flashed from 2.7 to 3.2 (3.2 wouldn't boot completely on its own) & I don't have the Xperia launcher. Was it removed or did I miss a step? Not a huge deal but wanted to try it out.

The usb connection still doesn't work for me either. Running 3.2 right now and I still have to restart my phone to get the USB connection to show up. My phone comes up as unrecognized in the device list using WIN 7.

After being on 3.2 for a few days, its seems good. I have just a couple issues though..

- I use a VOIP app called Viber. While texting with it is good, if I use it to talk, the app seems to freeze and I lose the call. Forcing me to force close it and restart. I done reinstalls, phone reboots and still same thing. Cant seem to talk 5mins and Viber just freezes/crashes.

-The compass is crazy. No matter how I try to calibrating it, it will not stop spinning. I tried a good app I used for a long time, GPS Status. There are tools to try to calibrate but still, no matter what my compass and pitch/roll sensor is crazy.

Any ideas?

azoller, I think I figured out why exchange still isn't working. I was doing a logcat trying to figure out why antutu benchmark fc's all the time and found these lines in there too.

Code:
W/PackageParser( 1364): /system/app/Exchange2.apk (at Binary XML file line #0): Requires newer sdk version #16 (current version is #15)
W/PackageParser( 1364): /system/app/Home.apk (at Binary XML file line #25): Requires newer sdk version #16 (current version is #15)

It appears that your exchange apk is for android 4.1 and we need one for 4.0.

Thanks I haven't had much time to look at any log cats or make one, but couldn't I edit the XML to make if for android 4.0?
And looks like the xperia launcher was for JB also

Actually, that is the lg home launcher. So i could be completely wrong. You may want to check the xml file anyway though.

I just flashed to 3.2 and everything booted right up! I'm not much of a fan of the stock LG home screen but it does seem to make everything run a bit smoother. But I can't seem to find the gallery app anymore. It's not in the app list or on the home screen. If I go into the camera application it wont let be click on the gallery button either. I think I'm going to flash back to 2.9 for the mean time.
