Root [ROM][July14] Icy Fusion V5.0 | Smooth | Tweaked | Themed | Battery

This ROM has been awesome! One grief I've had is that 3.3 and 3.4 have had non working Wi-Fi for me. It recognizes networks in range but will not connect. Reflashed back to 3.2 and works like a charm. Any ideas or thoughts on how to diagnose?

Logcat? It's hard to troubleshoot without a logcat.

Must have been something with 3.3 because I flashed 3.4 from 3.2 to get the logcat and all radios are fine. Can't recreate the problem then the problem doesn't exist right?

For some reason the statusbar doesn't show for me on the newest version. And also messaging kept fc'ing.

I did a full wipe coming from Ubuntu touch. Flashed ROM. Above issues. Full wipe. Reflash ROM. Same results. Dirty flash ROM. Same results. Gave up because I needed my texts. I may attempt later tonight coming from cm10.1 to see if that makes any difference

Last night I got an OTA update from Verizon for ZV8. Is this gonna break my phone if I get it? I have been running the Awesome Icy Fusion 2.0 for about 2 months now and I love it! Last night I flashed V4.0. More awesomeness!

don't take the ota, will probably brick your phone.

There's a zip that blocks ota's somewhere in this forum. Run a search for it and you should be able to find it without to much trouble.

that zip is probably in the brokenout 3.0 thread. If it's not there a link to it will be there for sure. I remember when mt made the ota block but that thread has a lot of post so good luck finding it. Would be awesome if someone does and made a thread dedicated to just the ota blocker so it would be easier for others to find.

hmm...that might explain why google maps is suddenly asking about data connection and not looking at stored maps on my phone- my root might have been compromised by OTA..how do I-
- check if I got OTA updated to ZV8, if I'm running Icy fusion 3.3
- if I'm still rooted and well as I dont see the superuser icon anymore.
- check if my bootloader is still unlocked?

the phone boots just fine into icyfusion though.

Also ORT, I did cpu setting you asked (1296 and 192) but it doesnt seem to have helped with battery. Is there some issue like "deep sleep" not happening with LG spectrum on ICY fusion, like it was on CM7?

thanks

to check what version of android you are on go to settings/ about phone / baseband version

you can check root by downloading a root checker from the market

you can check your bootloader by seeing if bluetooth is still broken lol I jokes...I'm not sure how to verify that one

To see if you got the OTA, check under settings > phone info and look at the baseband version. If it still says zv7, you should be fine. If it says zv8, then it took the ota and probably nuked CWM as well. If that is the case, you will probably want to do a cab flash and run the pwnage tool again.

As far as battery life, if you are still getting really short life you probably have a rogue app that's keeping your phone from sleeping. Get an app like Better Battery Stats to help track it down.

oops..it is ZV8!! so I need to do the whole dance again  ..
1- Flashing LG signed Firmware - LG Spectrum - RootzWiki - download LG Cab for ZV8 and then run the pwnage tool..
2. Install IcyFusion 4.. (and if it doesnt go smooth install slimdroid and then overwrite with ICYfusion)
3. Run OTA block zip so that these mishaps dont happen and then
4. Install my apps..
5. thank you guys for saving me again ;)

Dear ORT - pls. confirm that I got this right above and I'll proceed. thanks
