Root [ROM][July14] Icy Fusion V5.0 | Smooth | Tweaked | Themed | Battery

Weird because when I had broken out ROM I got constant reboots and freezes it was terrible for me... However the even less rom was okay not too bad.. Honestly I really like ICS better than gingerbread.. everybody knows how much I hated my phone due to the reboots and freezes and other annoyances but I tell all of them now I really like the Icyfusion because I haven't had a single reboot yet or a freeze and maybe one or two force closes but there's hardly any issues at all and I've never had anything like that.it wasn't even this good stock... Even the message that will scroll across the lock screen I have it with my email address and my contact info in case its lost they can see right there I love this rom like I said I think it would be really really awesome if you did come out with an update like you said maybe just one more so that the wifi works :D I'm really going to have trouble leaving this rom if I need to get my wifi working bc I like it, ha.. But I'm not trying to be selfish I know you probably have a lot of other things are working on and I don't know how hard it is to take a look at something like that I'm not a Dev by any means :D ... From what I understand the Bluetooth won't work unless I'm on AOKP rom...or with CM... I think I have CWM but I'm not sure how I would install CM if I have CWM in order to run Nightlies I'm confused on how all of that works is it easy? I guess that I thought I could install quattrimus with CWM and still get Bluetooth to work but if wifi tether work on this icyfusion5 I would stick with it most definitely... None of the ROMs for Gingerbread ( and I mean all... I actually just flashed the ICS CAB file so right now I'm relatively new to ICS :D) were reliable for me for some reason that's why I was so excited to get an ICS ROM haha! Thanks again!

Hmmm have you tried all of the tethering apps? Maybe one might be lucky and work and flashing cm nightlies is very easy to flash, go to "get.cm" and then look at the left sidebar and scroll mostly all the way doesn't and click on "vs920" (spectrum) and now go back to the right and download the latest nightly and then wipe data, cache, dalvik in cwm and then flash I'll grab you a link to the latest nightly if you want it but its pretty easy to find

Cool awesome I'll try and find it if i can't then I'll let u know...but yeah just about every tethering app and its all the same problem... failed to set up ad hoc....Any idea what might be causing that?? on the Pacman ROM i was engulfed in problems...and on top of all that it was very laggy and i had no caller id just a blank scream lol.. which one are u running and how do u like it? Any really annoying reboots/freezes/hlitches? and will flashing cm wipe out my touch recovery i think it's cwm... thanks a ton for your help & patience for real ha! You can PM me too if ud like.

I am running the cm nightlies from get.cm and with my skernel for the kernel and its running great really good setup

My home button doesn't work. Is this a known issue or something that is new to me? Thanks

A little more information would be helpful. Are you rooted? Do you have a custom ROM installed? When did it stop working and what were the circumstances? We are here to help but need more info than that.

I came from cyanogenmod 10.1.2, rooted currently on Icy Fusion v5.0. Did fresh instals with wipes twice and the home button doesn't work at all. When I press it it vibrates like it's going to work but does nothing. Same results in xperia launcher the default launcher and go launcher. Worked fine on cm10.

EDIT:
After wiping and flashing the rom a few more times I have some more information. After first install I noticed that my Messenger app force closes whenever I try to send a message to fix this I run the fix permissions option from either Rom Manager or from recovery. After rebooting from fixing permissions my messenger app works again but my home button/lockscreen/search do not work. I'm doing another wipe and install to see if it's from fixing permissions or from restarting the phone for the first time that gives me the issues. Will report back.

Final Edit: Figured out the issue. The messenger issue started after I used Titanium Backup to try and restore android ID and failing (Don't know why it was failing) By not restoring android ID I didn't get the messenger issue. I'm not sure if the Home button issue was from the android ID or if it was from fixing permissions (Probably from trying to fix android ID) but seems everything is fine now. Maybe this will help someone in the future. I finally got my phone working right so i'm really not interested in trying to find the exact reason it happened but it was def. 1 of those 2 things.

Ok, so i flashed CM 10.1 with the nightly release you led me to...seems to have the same issues as the first JB ROM i installed (PacMan) tethering works on and off but i cannot hear anybody that calls, nor will it tell me who's calling before I pick up. I keep getting a text message from "VZWNMN:1"...3 times in less than 30 mins...no idea what it is..i've Never gotten that text before and i never do those stupid "text {_____} to win" or any stupid stuff like that ...so this ROM's a no go...it's pretttty laggy as well..I wanted to know tho...what if i flashed the Skernel..i have it on my phone for some reason...could that possibly help? anybody know about Yoinx's kernel? the ROM also only clocks to 1.5ghz ...I used to have 1.8 with smartassV2 I liked that one...I hate GB i couldn't wait to get off of that. And quite honestly I love ICS, much more than JB...if anybody has any good recommendations for either an ICS or JB ROM that'd be awesome..It would be nice to have another ROM to flash with the CM b/c the bluetooth works...ahhhh thanks for all the continued support guys I really do appreciate it a lot!! Rooting and flashing ROMs can get entirely frustrating, but it's soo worth it...

All credits go to legmando33 for this!! Without him this wouldnt be here!!

@overdope have you tried the aokp41 ROM a few threads down? Its a lot smoother than cm10.1 I think and it doesn't have those dumb text messages at least I don't think, I get those dumb messages also I have no idea how to get rid of them but its not a major problem for me, and if you should stick with jb Roms because Bluetooth and tethering works better than on a ROM based off of ICS, and also when android 4.3 or cm10.2 comes out it will be a lot smoother, well it should be a lot smoother

The messages are from Verizon backup service...to get rid of them sign out of Verizon Back-Up Assistant....we have that problem on the Rezound.

@azoller1 - Well I tried to find a working link to get Quattrimus on here but they were all dead :/ now this one I'm running is starting to reboot on me and lag pretty bad. Instead of changing ROMs could I use Triggers Kernel? Or any kernel for that matter....I'd like to try that first, at least for now, just because I'm in AZ visiting my son so to re-organize my phone is a little too time consuming at the moment he's a handful. If u have any links to some good Kernels it'd be sweet if u wouldn't mind posting the links for me if it's not too much trouble..also a error isn't required for a kernel flash, correct....cuz I wiped cache and dalvik but not data last time..thanks!

And @bbgreen thank u for letting us know what those messages were! It was buggin me..ha, maybe a personal issue:D

Great Rom! I loaded this on my wifes phone and its running smooth. Only issue I have found is with Google Now. I cant click links. I remember having this issue with my Rezound (On S3 now) and all I had to do was remove the velvet.apk and install regular search. Im getting the parshing error. I have tried rebooting after removal but I seem to be missing somethings. What all needs to be removed for the market to allow for regular download of google search for ICS? This is the only thing my wife is complaining about. If I can make that stop it would be amazing!

Ha, never fails. Tether won't work, same error about the ad hoc..My buddy says it has something to do with the dns but I don't know anything about that..soooo frustrating..I don't know why either..the ROM I was running before this (running AOKP41 now, was on the nightly) works fine with the tether but would cut in and out every 20 mins or so

I love this ROM! Currently my daily driver. I've tried the beanstalk ROM, but I don't know why it lags on my device. This is the smoothest ROM I tried yet. If you don't mind I have some questions and suggestions

Questions:
1. Is there no stock alarm clock? I know I can download from play store but I would have really liked one built in.
2. Why can't I update the YouTube app. Every time I try to update to newest version, it says "package not signed correctly."
3. Is there a built in WiFi tethering in this ROM?

Suggestions:
1. All the notification sounds are alarms (which is kind of ironic since there is no alarm clock app.) It doesn't come with any normal notification ringtone.
2. Lock screen sounds would be great. I have it on but I don't hear anything.
3. Jelly bean of LG Home would be the best.

Thank you for the amazing ROM.

Alright. I've exhaused all I know. Anyone got anything on this?

I mean you could go back to GB if you wanted to because I also think it was the most stable ROM here is the link to the best GB ROM that ran well for me here

[ROM][2-12-13] SlimDroid v3.0 - Android Forums

GOOD AFTERNOON! Got out of work early, and want to try a new ROM. I know I am probably in the wrong thread to ask this, but I read about the "broken out spectrum 3.0" rom you mentioned in this post. Can I flash it when I am using TWRP?
I see you in this forum a lot, and from your posts, it seems you may one of the people that would know.
I am new to this, but not THAT new, but I want to tread carefully. I like TWRP, it seems to run well, no problems, and I like the interface. Thanks for your time.

KLEMBO:o
P.S. I am downloading version 3.0 to my computer, just in case you seem to think it will be OK to try it with TWRP. I'm really a NOOB, but not that much of a NOOB. I haven't had ANY problems yet installing or flashing anything you guys have done, and I want to keep a perfect record. LOL
