Is there any way to edit the APN settings without having to go back to another rom and back up and restore to this one? I FINALLY got it running with market and everything working and now I see I have no web or MMS
 
good work on this! flashed this morning, havent gone back since. everything worked right out of the box, data, mms, wifi, gps, email, phone//everything. it even feels like data is stronger and doesnt drop out every few minutes..had solid 3g at work, on the road, and still going.
thank god for rom toolbox, was able to restore all my apps and data, and even install the miui camera. if it wasnt for cm7's lock screens, i would just stick with this.

can you guys tell what to do to get the market working i cant download any app and when tryed flashing the gapps my phone boots with no market install (i mounted system before flashing gapps) so ny sujestion
 
I have a problem there is no gmail ir playystore so how can I sign in I tried accounts and sync but I get errors
 
@ jacex - boot into recovery and flash gapps. see if that works for you.


What worked for me:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Wipe cache
3. Reflash Stock++
4. Right after this finishes, flash gapps (without rebooting).
5. Once gapps is installed, reboot phone. Log into google account and everything should work. Market will update on its own to PlayStore after you open it the first time.

This is what worked for me. Some steps might not be important, but so far everything I want works so I'm not complaining . . . yet :rolleyes:

or you could just update google play manually..
no need to flash gapps incorrectly.
@jacex..what errors are you getting?
 
I followed everything in the little guide that included the SU update and I was able to log into Google, but Market wasn't working. After a while I noticed it updated itself to Play Store and it worked fine but my data was broken because I am on nTelos. I used the same fix I did with a different rom where I replaced the apn config file with a working one, and after several different tries it doesn't seem to want to work. I guess I'll just sit and let it do its thing for a bit. I'm at work anyways so I will maybe get something done instead of playing on my phone :)
 
What is Gapps?

The error I get comes from trying to sign into a google email like if it was a coperate email. I tried adding it from accounts and sync but i knew it wouldn't work. Where can i find gapps?

Also, another problem I have is that a triangle keeps popping up saying I'm data roaming?! I restart my phone it goes away for 15 minutes but then switches right back.

If you follow the directions in the OP, it will tell you where to download the GApps fill and when in the process to install it. The GApps file is a file with all the Google apps like Market, GTalk, etc.

I love this rom though. Especially the OC
 
I finally get everything working on nTelos, Play Store works fine and so does MMS/SMS, but I can't get on the web and some apps log in slowly, but that one might be because I was updating several apps at the time. Hm...

So basically, everyone is installing this because they want a deodexed stock rom... no... i thinjk it is because they are rom junkies like myself! :P Great work, req0... good to see you make a nice base for us... I think I might wait until you finish the CM7 rom.. or atleast until it is finished as it will get because it is awesome still with the few things that don't work... I knew what I was getting myself into before I installed a few alphas and betas to her phone... thanks for this and the betacm7 as well.

Thats great! :) Just would also like to ask.. can that zip be used on any metro rom thats out there? i,e: monster, beast, etc.

You should try playing with the setcpu settings... play with mhz and maybe try it ondemand, noop or performance (that one will burn your battery up) but you catch my drift... you will have to adjust until you find out what your phone runs the smoothest on.... start at highest and work your way down... that sorta thing..


On another note.. I decided to start running my laptop wih ubuntu so I can start learning more about how to get more serious with the roms myself... I haven't really used ubuntu since i was playing around with aircrack for educational and informational purposes, of course! :P

I don't know about anyone else's setting, but by default mine was set to "ondemand" and usually sits at about 370 until it needs to do something, then it goes up to 900. Try changing it and toying with the clock speed.
