oh i renamed it o.O like normal... should i mount my sd card on my laptop using card reader rename it back and try again?

Hmm. I think when you select "update.zip" it looks for it to be an official update, ya know? Try going in and selecting zip file, then selecting it and see if it works. Otherwise, just use the original file name and it should work. :)

renamed it, and ran it, its now doing its thing :) thanks, thought i was a gonna there lol

OK so it says install from SD card complete...

Do i back out and use the reboot option now? should it of not done it its self?

Yup, just hit power a couple times to go back and then hit "reboot system now"
 
not that i'd want to, but once i install the OTA can i still go backwards to other roms if i want to? will the OTA work with CM6, for example?

and can someone who's doing this and also has a slingbox tell me if sling player works? that's my major gripe with CM6...
 
besides the 720p any downfall on not installing the ota on this? I figured i would just install this 2.2 and update the radio when its either confirmed that the ota update is official or with whatever version they come up with. think i'll be ok?
 
is this gonna be the same exact file that will be in the OTA update? in other words did someone snatch this from verizon somehow and leak it to the public?
 
Seriously - Eclair to Frozen treats in 10 minutes.

Btw whats the new location service from vzw in location settings? is it just to allow cellphone tower triangulation?
 
This sounds great! I will probably finally root once I get the update so I can get rid of some of that crap. Why even bother with VZ Nav when we have Google Maps? I mean, it was nice when I had my EnV Touch but it has no place on an Android phone.
